cartoons.. oh yes. i remember the feeling, seems just like yesterday that i'm rushing to the living room too, straight from school to watch em. i love the xmen series, specially the phoenix saga! and oh yeah, captain planet. :) i remember thunder cats but i was too young back then to get the drift of the story. brilliant animation though. :)

Transformers, M.A.S.K., My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Thundercats..... that's my favourite...the 1980s - the glory days of cartoons.

The 1990s cartoons are not so bad though, Captain Planet, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

    Talking about modern cartoons....urgggh....it's no good...no good..totally.

Bugs is my favorite too, but I'll admit I watch SpongeBob and
Dexter's Lab with the boys. They are funny. Oh, and Animaniacs
was hilarious too, but sadly, it's not on anymore.
  • silverwhisper said on May 22, 2007....
i'll admit that i also used to watch some very early anime when it was on, like battle of the planets and speed racer. but i don't need to watch them when i catch them the way i need to watch bugs. :>

For old school I would say the WB line up like bugs and friends. I also liked He-man, Thunder Cats, G. I. Joe (Snake Eyes is my boy) and Transformers. More resent cartoons include Dexter’s Lab, Johnny Bravo and yes…The Power Puff Girls. Guess who my favorite is? The X-Men series did rock.

Man those bring back so many memories of sitting in the front room with the sibblings a whole gallon of milk and a box of Freakies cereal and watching cartoons on Saturday morning! AAAHHH to be young again. Well i guess I am not all that old, I still have to wait an hour or so to pee in the morning, for my stiffie to go away!!!
  • mom said on May 28, 2007....
gena- LOLOLOL  I bet that was something that you didn't encounter much as a child, or did you?

I'm with D6 - Bugs Bunny - but also Sylvester and Tweety, Wile E. Coyote, Speedy Gonzalez (who my mother still insists is a terrible racial slur - LOL), Foghorn Leghorn, and Tom and Jerry.  WB all the way ...

As for the more modern ones ... still love the Simpsons, miss Ren and Stimpy.  South Park's pretty clever, and Sponge Bob is a guilty pleasure.  Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is kinda cute too - I usually watch it with my niece.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the "smurfs", or "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

I used to be a huge fan of the "Pink Panther" cartoons.  The silent Mel Blanc ones.  Sometimes they were featured with "Ant & the Aardvark" cartoons and "inspector Cluseau" cartoons.  All silent, with no dialogue.  It was great stuff.
  • silverwhisper said on Jun 27, 2007....
but...nobody liked either the smurfs or the chipmunks!
