Firefox is the best thing yet. At fist I was a bit skeptical about installing it but am now glad I did. They have some really good add-on features. Internet explorer needs to come with some features or else Firefox is going taking the traffic away.

What are you using?

i use opera, but i do try to use firefox on occasion. i prefer opera b/c it opens pages faster than either firefox or IE and frankly, that's what matters most to me. and yes, firefox is indeed open source and hence, more stable.

I wrote a little blog on this subject,I have 5 browsers but use k-meleon as its very fast and uses up litlle process power yet i do love opera like you ed its very sleek and fast and have you noticed ed you can go forward a page and backwards a page by holding down the right click and clicking left to go back and vice versa, which not only can be done faster than trying to guide the curser to the left and right arrows top left but can be done on any part of the page and even with your eyes closed this feature is only available in opera and in k-meleon which needs to be set in the settings and is so handy... internet explorer still has its place for windows updates etc, but the features and customability of IE7 has a lot to be desired.. if anyone does decide to download firefox, i get commision if its downloaded from my page http://bigbro8.blogspot.com , its at the bottom left, :)

so there are more browsers out there, silver am going to try out opera cause all i really need is a browser that will load pages faster....k...melon?.....how many other browsers r there?

using firefow: quick, nice & works with no problem.
With explorer I always had errors. With firefow it happened twice in six months!

my top 5 are k-meleon , opera firefox avant and ie7 as its always good to have more than one browser, as sometimes you may have problems with 404 errors etc and not being able to view video content even though you have the appropriate player, and another browser can sometimes be a quick fix solution and i use avant browser for reseaching and have diabled java images etc to make the pages load even faster.

i use firefox. I like safari on the mac, but I'm a programmer and I can't live without the plugins I use with firefox.

I use Firefox for almost everything.  If it has a hiccup, which is hardly ever, I use Netscape.

Firefox, with Opera occasionally (and I think we only have Opera - well, and IE, but that never gets used - on the laptop thus far).

firefox, both at home and in the office. we are on a partial shift to linux, so we dropped most microsoft products and started shifting to gnu and other opensource software.

  • silverwhisper said on May 21, 2007....
moon: really? that's freaking awesome! does this mean you now read slashdot?

  • moonriver said on May 21, 2007....
sw -- lol, you mean that geeky blog world that is the reincarnation of the 1990s usenet? naah. too much time required to immerse myself in that subculture. me and the office techie has a simple rule: as much as possible, just rtfm. (read the f*ng manual...lol)

  • silverwhisper said on May 21, 2007....
you know, i always find it peculiar that people call slashdot a blogging site. to me it's a news site.

  • moonriver said on May 21, 2007....
sw -- they say the engine or software that runs slashdot's innards is similar to other blogging software. but yes, most of its contents have high informative or news value.

oh well, they did call usenet groups "newsgroups" back in the 90's, including the alt.binaries.sex feeds ...:-)
