I recently invited to a close friend 18th birthday and unluckily to be one of the 18 treasures (you give a significant gift to her). I accepted it and was also shocked cause the required attire for the party. This friend of mine is certified ANIME fanatic and try to make her birthday an anime cosplay so she required everyone to dress-up an anime character.

I was getting a problem about it cause don't know what to dress. I kind of have a soft side on watching anime (even though I no longer a kid) but to be them well. that will be another story. I was planning to wear kimono like in Samurai X or even thinking to be a Magician from Rune Soldiers. It really confusing...

Many days passed and at last it's the day of the party. As I entered the room, I see cosplaying ninja (Naruto), sword-wielding characters (Final Fantasy) and lots of more. And the birthday celebrant is a Snow Princess and she bow as I give her my gift/treasure. The party was colorful and nice (even though it plays Japanese Pop music or anime theme). Lots of games and freebies (stuff toys made in japan).
I just smile and amazed how my friend prepared her party. A very unique party indeed, like I was in a Role-playing room. You went there as not YOU but someone that you ever dreamed to be.

It was party to remember... I was Lady Wizard (Ragnarok's) ^.^'

P.S. Even it music played in Japanese I kind of like the way instruments blend.

I admit that I find the idea of cosplay very geeky and borderline ridiculous. Yet I find I when I come across cosplay pics, I can't stop looking. damn you crazy Japanese/white chicks with your sexy poses.

Monozuki, it's bugging me. Are you Japanese? Japanese are the only people I have heard who use the term cosplay for costume play or dressing up. And your moniker sounds exactly Japanese.

What's "moniker"? Actually I'm not a Japanese. And the term "cosplay" is always mention not only by japanese but also those anime fans (esp. my friend) who are not japanese. =)
