It's a great time to be a girl...Have you heard that fun little song about lip gloss? It is now my daughters chosen "ringtone" so now each time I hear her cell ringing, it brags...whatchu know about me? My lip gloss is poppin!" It cracks me up evertime!
Tonight is a senior prom where my daughter will attend with her boyfriend. He is a really great guy and I know they have a lot of fun together. Of course, mostly I think he is brilliant for falling for my girl! She is so much better than I. She has these dimples too (thanking Mr. Mamie) that just slay us all! She has beautiful brown eyes that I can see through, all the way to her soul. She is beautiful!
She is a junior so all of this excitement for the senior prom is not as emotional to me as it might be if it was her final dance at her high school. But I am aware that it is her second to last one. I am so lucky to be able to take some time from working to be a full time mom to my baby of 17. Each day she reminds me to be better, nicer, more gracious, she laughs alot and always finds away to have fun (case in point a Greys

I listen to them from the distance of my BR as they laugh and talk into the night. Who knows what is cracking them up and how can they tell what the other is saying when they all talk at once like that? I have no idea!! :))
And each one is more beautiful than the other, even with messy pony tails in the morning and sweats from every popular brand, they roll down the steps and my heart fills up. I smile and go about my business as they have a leisurely breakfast before the big festivities later tonight. Already the buzz is beginning and one of them is singing "i am in love, I am in love, I am in love!!"

I am happy to be home...I showered like I was at a spa today....taking my time to enjoy the sweet soaps and lotions....and dressed today in what I think is a funky little outfit appropriate to be visiting people later for the photo shoots...but comfortable and casual for whatever glorious things today brings me.
A final round of hairspray and I am checking my look in the mirror...no more hannibal lecter...no more dark circles from any recent medical what-have-yous....
