There is a chapter of TAPS in Lexington Kentucky and we have several prominant local doctors who are members. They go on spook hunts at least once a year.
CW...coincidence.....i was reading this morning an article about ghost hunter groups. They say here in Texas, at Fort Worth, 40 minutes from my place, there is the largest ghost hunter group of all Usa. It counts 500 members.
Here in Dallas there are several haunted places. The most famous ghost is the Lady of White Rock Lake .....the legend wants that in 1841 a ghost started to appear ...a young woman would stop people leading them to a house facing the lake. The people would knock at the door and the father of the girl would open and explain that his daughter was dead by some time, drowning in the lake. The visitorss all reported of having noticed a large paddle of water on the porch...
This is a famous poem of Elizabeth Barrett Browning about the reality of ghosts.
"Earth's crammed with heaven
and every common bush afire with God
And only he who sees takes off his shoes.
The rest sit roud it and pluck blackberries"..
I am curious about these things....
I wrote a post months ago talking about my possible vision of one ghost....still pretty sure he was a ghost...but still...cant convince completely msyelf...:-)
I love this show. My husband poo poos it, but I do believe theres something. It may not b ghosts, who knows. Iv had experiences myself. Freaky business those unknown jaunts into the unknown. Yes. Id definately go on a ghost hunt if givin the chance. In fact...Id drag the old poo pooer along with me by the 2 hairs left on his head.

At each site in our Den and my study the little girl leaves three or four straight lines about two inches long of two different colors. She uses what looks like red and blue crayon but it will not clean off with any cleaner I have found so far.
When the group of marks come back they are always in a different place on the walls and doors. The marks are never more than two feet of the floor.
Night Lizards are about 4 feet long definetly reptile in shape. They are completely transparent but light seems to ripple a bit when it passes through them. They are very curious and run around looking at things.
They seem to be harmless and rarely move anything. They are best seen at night with all of the lights out. Ambient moonlight and the odd indicator lights on electronics and heating systems are just the right amount of illumination to see them.
Once your eyes are used to the low light levels you can sense ripples in the image of things. By concentrating on the effect of the disturbance you can quickly begin to make out their shape. I have watched these guys for hours and they never cause any problem.
They sometimes get right in my face but usually wander around looking at anything that has changed in the room. Only once did they disturb anything. One of my kids had left an I-Cybee Robot Dog on the top of an entertainment center.
When I saw the night lizard looking at it I jumped up and turned on a light. Then the I-Cybee was knocked off onto the floor. They didn't come back for a month or so after that.

Have you ever seen the show Mysterious Encounters. I'm pretty sure its off the air now, but it used to be on one of the outdoor channels. It was like Ghost Hunters, but involved cryptids instead of ghosts. That show seemed so fake. Every little noise or movement she saw, she thought was bigfoot. Even some her team would tell her that it could be a deer. This happened every episode. She would never see bigfoot(at least I don't remember her anything clear enough to be sure it was bigfoot. Was always stuff like "I saw glowing eyes" or "what was that movement"), but she would always hear a sound that she thought was bigfoot
I think Ghost Hunters is much much better than that show, but it still has some of the elements. Like they will say a table moved, but they could have easy kicked it on purpose or by accident. Or they will claim to just have had an experience, but they didn't catch it on tape.
I believe there really are ghosts, or at least what people percieve as being ghosts. I just don't think an average ghost hunt is exciting enough for t.v. They have to add a little.
