I can't believe I forgot my own birthday!
My brother surprised me when he called me very early in the morning to wish me a happy birthday.
Interestingly, it happens every year these days, it seems - either my parents/siblings give me a surprise gift/visit/call or my wife and kids do the same once I wake up in the morning!
It's amazing really - I tend to remember it about a week before but forget it totally on the eve of the day; unless I am in an introspective mood, friends and/or family give me a card earlier on, or my wife insists on wishing me a loving happy birthnight beforehand! Haha - very lucky me, eh?
Do you usually feel surprised whenever you are wished a verbal happy birthday or receive a birthday card on your birthday?
Are you ever ready/prepared for your B-Day? Is it important or significant to you in any special way?
Do you remember the date a few days, weeks, or months before the actual day, and then forget it on the eve of the B-DAY?
If your memory loss with regard to your birthday is due to worries about whether or not your 'number' is up, Gina Kolata says as follows, as also echoed a bit differently in the theme song "DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY":
"Mathematicians have a joke that the way to live forever is to choose a problem that is so important that you cannot die until you solve it. Then never work on it."
SO, DO YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR BIRTHDAY OR SOMEONE ELSE USUALLY REMINDS YOU?
DO YOU NORMALLY CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAYS? WHO USUALLY REMEMBERS YOUR BIRTHDAY?
WHAT HAPPENS AND WHAT DO YOU DO ON YOUR BIRTHDAYS?
WHAT ABOUT ANNIVERSARIES - DO YOU EVER FORGET?
