Can someone please solve it?

It’s definitely not impossible but it’s certainly challenging, not at all daunting!

Created by Douglas R. Hofstadter in his book Metamagical Themas, the paradox is this:

“ Only the fool would take trouble to verify that his sentence was composed of ten a’s, three b’s, four c’s, four d’s, forty-six e’s, sixteen f’s, four g’s, thirteen h’s, fifteen i’s, two k’s, nine l’s, four m’s, twenty-five n’s, twenty-four o’s, five p’s, sixteen r’s, forty-one s’s, thirty-seven t’s, ten u’s, eight v’s, eight w’s, four x’s, eleven y’s, twenty-seven commas, twenty three apostrophes, seven hyphens, and, last but not least, a single !”

ohmygod i cant believe but i solved this like under five minutes...

what the puzzle means is that it is showing how many words use in the sentence itself. does that makes sense?
  • Bronx said on May 13, 2007....
Queen: yes, it does make sense....

I just need the actual sentence that fits in all those letters and punctuation marks exactly as listed for each letter or punctuation mark.

So, can you tell me the complete sentence?

duh!.... i feel stupid... i think i am going to have a migraine..LOL....

bronx, i think queenie was trying to say that the puzzle description you provided, enclosed in double quotes, is itself the sentence that we're looking for. i haven't counted every character as described, but the # of hyphens, apostrophes, commas, and exclamation point, do tally out correctly. in short, queenie got it right.

    “ Only the fool would take trouble to verify that his sentence was composed of ten a’s, three b’s, four c’s, four d’s, forty-six e’s, sixteen f’s, four g’s, thirteen h’s, fifteen i’s, two k’s, nine l’s, four m’s, twenty-five n’s, twenty-four o’s, five p’s, sixteen r’s, forty-one s’s, thirty-seven t’s, ten u’s, eight v’s, eight w’s, four x’s, eleven y’s, twenty-seven commas, twenty three apostrophes, seven hyphens, and, last but not least, a single !”

moon,  sweet: yes, just giving her a hard time about it. Haha.

Now, back to the question: what prize should be given, and in what form?
  • Bronx said on May 15, 2007....
Queen: congratulations - just wanted you to spell it out!

The sentence is one of those that call attention to themselves.

Your prize - that is the question!
