This segment is his usual blowhard b.s. There is one spot where he says:

"There isn't a more radical person in the country than him [Soros]. You took $75k from the most radical individual in the United States of America."

Now, clearly Soros isn't the most radical person in the country. This is another example of O'reilly saying anything, even obvious falsehoods, when he needs to make a point.

Maybe he should have said the most radical of the super wealthy?

for a man of soros's means, $75k doesn't even register.

    O'reilly is textbook a megalomaniac.

I hear ya, but you have to pick another nickname. I already called jackass
for Jesse Jackson ... Jesse (jackass) Jackson.

How about Bill (the pill) O'Reilly. Or you choose. Our worst representatives
deserve a good nickname. Hmmm. I just thought of something. A jackass
is the symbol of the Democratic party, right? Jesse may have to have
another nickname, but I cannot think of a better one.

Anyway, a question. How do you feel about billionaires influencing our
elections? It kind of gives me an uneasy feeling, too. Kind of the way I
feel about Hollywood and the mainstream media trying so hard to
influence the way we vote. But, dang it, most people see right through it
anyway. Probably because so many of us listen to people like Bill, Rush,
Sean, and Mark Levin. I guess we are all a bunch of jackasses.
{hee haw hee haw} Actually, Bill is a little too glib for me. It is not so
much what he says (usually), but the way he says it.

To me O'Riley is the John McCain of Talk Radio....kinda wishy washy.

how in the world did you miss a chance to pot-shot at kerry with that wishy-washy comment about mccain, d6? i think you're slipping, man. :D

turn in your republican party membership card, man. :>

I like to call him big-O, but it's a nerdy math joke. There is a notation in math called big-o that is used to ignore subtleties and focus on extremes. It seems to fit him well :)

"How do you feel about billionaires influencing our elections?"

My core belief is that democracy requires people to care and pay attention. Ultimately, we choose who is elected, not billionaires. If we are dumb enough to vote for the person that has the most commercials then we can't blame anyone but ourselves
  • ALIENated said on May 13, 2007....
So you think money has no influence on elections? I think Mr. Soros has a
reputation for influencing the political situation in several countries around the
world, right? I guess it would just be a matter of whether you think his
politics are right or wrong. How would you feel if radical right wing billionaire
Mr. XYZ started pumping money into Republican coffers? That is probably all
the big O is concerned about--one man steering our country in a certain
    direction.

  • bloc said on May 13, 2007....
"So you think money has no influence on elections?"

I did'nt say that. What I think is that democracy isn't going to work if people simply vote for the candidate that has the most resources.

"How would you feel if radical right wing billionaire Mr. XYZ started pumping money into Republican coffers?"

This already happens. Let's not forget that republicans typically raise more money than democrats and primarily from corporations.
  • ALIENated said on May 13, 2007....
I am confused now. It sounds like you are agreeing with big O.

"How come all of O'Reilly's graphics are based on the anatomical appearance of a
    giant sphincter??"

Found that at the last link off of your link. Statements like that somehow make
everything else said seem like so much do do. Like a bunch of liberals with axes
to griind, who always revert to name calling and dirty jokes instead of meaningful
facts. Even your link, CrooksAndLiars.com, has a graphic with a figure reminiscent
of Nixon saying "I am not a crook." That immediately tells me that I am looking at
a totally unbiased website ... not.

SW....nah...I'll save my Kerry pot shots for a post about dems....O'Riley being a conservative.....I figured McCain was a good comparison
  • bloc said on May 14, 2007....
    @alien
you are the most biased person, along with d6, so you can't credibly argue for objectivity. You bring up clinton in 80% of your threads when it has no bearing on the topic at hand. No worries, I have confidence that readers see this since it's clear as day.
  • silverwhisper said on May 14, 2007....
now now, bloc: he also gratuitously brings up obama and hillary. :>

    you learn to read.

BTW.....if the left wasn't trying so hard to rewrite history and turn Clinton into something he is not.....his name wouldn't be brought up for arguements sake.
