So, today I'm going home, because I can...hahahah FREEDOM!!!

So anyway, my roommate comes home and she sits there for maybe 5 minutes, turns to me and says, "Where are you going? Do you have a date?"

So I turn to her and say, "No."

She says, "Oh, you look nice and you're wearing Khaki pants, I thought you were going somewhere."

At which point I pick up my phone to call my mother to tell her I'm on my way. I say to her while the phone rings, "That's because it's the only clean pair I have right now."

She opens her mouth to say something else and I say hello to my mom. That ends that conversation.

Not an hour later:

I come out the bathroom, I just finished curling my hair, I admit, I did look extra cute.

Again, the roommate says, "You're all dressed up, are going on a date or something?"

I say, "I always look good. I'm going home." I stressed the word home.

She looks at me like I just told her I won the lottery...pure disbelief. Then she says, "You look really pretty, you want me to take a picture or something?"

WTF?? I wanted to hit her after that, but I didn't, because I'm being good. But honestly people, why would anyone say that to me? Humph!

Is there something wrong with your roommate??
  • princessbitch65 said on May 10, 2007....
tbs, this reminds me of something that happened to me my freshman year. It wasn't a roommate that said this but it was a girl who lived on my floor. I was going somewhere and put on different color makeup when she made a comment of it was about time that I put some on! I was rather insulted because when I did went out, I usually put on make up without over doing it.  People kill me sometimes!
  • mom said on May 10, 2007....
Maybe there was something extra special about  the way you looked.  If you were excited to be going home then maybe there was an extra special gleam in your eye.

SL: This is so true. I did leave it alone. Went home and slept. Oh yeah!

    Catee: She leaves tomorrow. Hallelujah!

Sweet: Don't go! Please!! I sent you an email. Write back.

Daily: She never has to try. She's one of those naturally pretty girls. Makes me sick!

    *fake gagging noises*

Ed: How sweet, a glow...she was just being herself, oblivious to what she's saying. A whole year of this and now it's over, finally.

MsB: You know, I ask myself that everyday, but she doesn't know any better. Sometimes I feel like patting her on the head.

princess: I know, it makes you wonder what you looked like before. Some people...
  • tbs230 said on May 10, 2007....
mom: lol, mom, thanks. But you know, it was the way she said it. Like the only way I would look pretty is if I was going somewhere. Makes me wonder what I look like on a regular day to her.
  • mom said on May 10, 2007....
oh LOL, is she usually snide?
  • tbs230 said on May 10, 2007....
No. She's not. She's just very off sometimes, as if she doesn't filter what she's saying. I guess because she feels comfortable around me, but sheesh!
  • mom said on May 10, 2007....
LOL, sometimes it isn't so good to have someone feel comfortable around you. LOL
  • yani said on May 10, 2007....
hahahaha your roommate sounds nice (eeeekkkkkkkkk i hate this word! don't you?)      :)

i'm sure it was the gleam in your eyes that suddnely made her think you were going on a date........... it seems to me it didn't occur to her that going home after being away from it is so much more special than going to a date.......thus the preparation :)  the feeling of anticipation to be around people who loves you will usually makes us glow, so much so that it makes other people wonder :)

    mwah!

B/c to HER TBS you didn't look like your USUAL SELF. And that is o.k. but obviously was a bit of a shock for her. Don't get mad at her, she was only trying to help honey. You were good and that is what is important? You must ahve lookked like a knock out and depending on how long you've been roommates she knows your habits soooo... Enjoy Home TBS:~)

    hey Mom how's everything going?
  • tbs230 said on May 10, 2007....
mom: You have no idea the things this girl shares with me. Sad part, we're really good friends, so we are very blunt with each other.

yani: so true. I've been looking forward to going home for a while now. I love my home!! My family is pretty cool too :-)

HH: This glow needs to be researched some more. Because I need to know how to harness it. I did look pretty damn amazing, if I do say so myself. Thank you, home has mixed reviews right now, but bothering my sister is making up for it :-) hehehe
  • mom said on May 10, 2007....
HH- I am doing good and you? I love the way you emphasize what you are saying. LOL

Tbs- I am so glad you are going home, some of that home cooking will be wonderful, you can kick back and let your mom take care of you.  What will you do while you are home?  Do you think you will study for next year?  J/k don't hit me :(
  • tbs230 said on May 10, 2007....
mom: shush your mouth! All my mom has managed to do is guilt me into sending my dad money. My uncle is going to Haiti and my mom wants me to send him, get this, 500 dollars. Now where the hell am I getting 500 dollars to send him??

    Crack headed nonsense.

Tbs, you are hilarious for saying that.
  • tbs230 said on May 11, 2007....
boyzmom: Thanks, home is great. Nice semi-warm bed (They turned the heater off, so it's kind of cold), a home cooked meal when mommy wants to actually cook. A sister who can't stand me unless she just woke up. LOVE IT!

yani: I think so too lol. How are you?

MsB: *innocently looks around* say what?? lol, it is though!

It seems you are just misreading someone else's intentions again. You can't even take a compliment.Very insecure.Get used to going home because with your attitude you are not going to go many other places in life.Maybe you are not as always as well kept as you believe you are and don't know how to react to people saying nice things to you.My guess is that your roommate is telling the same story that you are and everybody who hears her side thinks you are a bitch. It is very appropiate that this is tagged About Me,because it seems as though most things probably are about you.
  • tbs230 said on May 13, 2007....
Pete, I'm going to keep your comment up, but I'm telling you right now, don't you ever come onto my blog and start spewing your crap. Don't presume to know what my roommate was thinking, or what I was thinking. Take it at face value or don't take it at all. By the way, didn't I tell you I was done talking crap with you? Must you come here to pick yet another fight, about yet another topic?

Go somewhere else, and take your garbage with you.

hiii! just roaming...happens to see your blog post.... have a nice day! Btw, i never had roomates...but i do have lots of friends who  also are like your roomates...comments like that maybe foul but you know...when you are this close that boundaries seems impossible to create ....good thing you just ignored it!
  • tbs230 said on May 15, 2007....
Hey tooth! My roommate and I are very close, she takes that very seriously and says whatever is on her mind. But she is a sweetheart, just a little off sometimes lol. It is very true about boundaries, so the little ones just slip by, you know? Have a great day too!
