Since today its my B-day i couldnt have a better super special gift.
I finished right now to talk with an Expedia agent and i have officially booked my trip to Italy and at a whopping $400 less than the price i was expecting!!! I called yesterday and the price was that higher, called today and switched seats and connections and i got this great price...i am so happy...
I will be leaving June 26th and returning July 23rd.
I have decide to splurge with the lenght of my visit because originally i thought of staying only 20 days.
Then i thought about my mother.
She deserves to have at least one month with her grandaughter. She saw her last time 2 years ago. Since i am not able to help her the way i would, and be closer the way she needs ....this is my gift for her. The expression of her face anytime she see us getting out of the elevator door is simply priceless.
And its a gift for my daughter too. She needs to be a longer stretch of time in her country, speaking our language, staying with her Italian family, doing a normal life that would be more than a short vacation.
I am so stressed out though. It has been a big strecth for my finances. I hope to be able to work since June and to work also there a little bit with my brother shop to earn some money. There I also will have to sell some of my old stuff and most of all we will have to go thru some legal issues still pending since my sister's death.
The main task will be taking care of my old home where she lived the last 5 years. And thsi only opens a painful chapter that my mother is not ready to face yet. But the home needs needs to be cleaned and put on the market to rent.
So it will be also business, not only vacation.
But the tickets are mine now.... LOL...
I have been 2 hours at the phone with this incredibly nice guy at Expedia. He really worked with me thru any possible option to find me the cheapest flights with the best seats and connections.
At the end we were like best friends....lol...
We were chatting about the weather, the job, the inside tips of booking a flight...and so i asked him where his office was located, West, East or Central?
And he started to laugh....
And he told me "No, Ino i am in Manila, Philippines".
I was so surprised that i started to laugh too....
And i had to explain him why.
"You won't believe how many people i knwo now from your country" And so i told him about SC and the immensely nice community of filipino we have. I told him about Queen going to the beach, Sweetcookie born in Baguio and Yani and Lioness and so many other..
He told me it was freaking hot in Manila today and when we parted Jerric and i were like old good friends....
His accent is so clean i would have never imagine him coming from Manila.....Congratulations to the school system there is this is the level of English that is taught....
Well, i think i am going to call my mom and tell her the good news.
And when tonight she will be back home i surprise my daughter too....lol...
My b-day has been great up to now even though i am alone here to celebrate it....but its ok...i have been chatting and talking all day.....:-)
I got some very nice emails from my Italian friends and Scasters, my American friends called and i have been invited to lunch for tomorrow and a dinner in the middle of the week, Daily dedicated a post to me, we solved our problem with our signing in...and a very special gift has been promised to me from a far away country and its sender will be back in town soon too.... ...
I am very thankful for all of this...... i might not have had fancy presents or cake and parties and cotillons...but i can't really care less...
You know what?
Not worrying until tonight at midnight is going to be just enough ..... :-)
