  Hitler was nothing more than a racist bigot. Or why else would he persecute and exterminate the Jews by the millions? His reason, he didn't want the German race to be diluted with Jewish genes.   Neither. He just knew how to use and manipulate people. He gave grand speeches telling desperate people that they were better than they knew and gave them scapegoats to blame for their failures instead of any real solutions. His lust for power almost destroyed the German people.

  ALIENated- That is quite true. When he went to Munich to try to get into art school he was rejected. He couldn't return home because of the shame of returning a reject ^-^. He became a penniless begger and a doer of odd jobs. One of which was painting, but my favorite by far was that he would draw postcards and sell them. anonymous- Now there really isn't a reason to hide who you are just because of what you want to say.   Hitler.... He commissioned the Volkswagon...A cheap, reliable vehicle for the people... Wait...He was the guy responsible for the death of around 6 milliion Jews right? That's pretty vile... Volkswagon vs genocide...hmmm.... The thing I find most interesting about the Nazis is that from "Mein Kamf" to "Achtung Panzer!", they wrote down what they were going to do, and nobody paid attention! Admittedly, I tried to read Mein Kamf, and it reads like it was written by a child with delusions of grandeur. I like what Expendable wrote...He preyed on the german peoples' anger after WWI to persue his own agenda... Did you know he was Time Magazine's "Man of the Year" in 1938? For turning the German Economy around and rebuilding after WWI...Too bad he turned out to be a genocidal fuckhead. One of the things that always gets me though is that Stalin killed around 7-8 million of his own people in the Gulags after WWII and nobody even flinched...

  I calls em likes I sees em... I know there are probably a few people who didn't consider reading this post because of the topic or your handle... I have always prided myself on neutrality...at least until I have a good deal of info from all sides... I mean, it always had occured to me that Hitler could've gone down in history as a great man, if not for WWII...or if he'd won... Or, if the allies (after WWI) hadn't sadled Germany with all costs or reparations and totally destroyed their economy and their pride, Hitler might never have been elected, and today, nobody would remember him. I always thought it would've been scary if Napoleon and Hitler had lived at the same time and Combined Hitler's charisma and ability to motivate people and Napoleon's military ability...(It never would've worked, though, 2 big egos...) I made a comment earlier about the allies not reading the Nazi's handbooks, but then again, Hitler obviously didn't pay attention to history, and screwed up the same way Napoleon did...Russia in winter, always a bad idea...

  Hitler was a good leader for the same reason Ronald Reagan was: his charisma. He inspired people to become fanatical and achieve the goals in his agenda. That is not genius, that is being a smooth-talker and good manipulater.

  FaithfulDisciple- Killed killed himself because he felt that Germany had failed him. He also set bombs and was going to blow up everything in his own country! What the hell is that? Another reason was, Benito Mussolini was killed for his crimes then he and his wife were hung by their toes, open to the public, where people threw fruit, vegatables, etc. at their dead bodies. Hitler, of course, did not want to go through that. :)
