Show me the proof of this, I call bullshit.  Why wouldn't they just wait until the next day when twice as many people as normal are going to have to fill up and jack up the prices to show us our place in the world.  That's what I would do.

Sean I don't remember, but they said it worked in 1997. I am desperate enough to give it a try. The cheapest gas here is $3.49 a gallon.

Same here, and I use the higher quality stuff.  I know they said, but who is they?  I think the only thing this MIGHT accomplish is making them raise the price the day after, but in all likelihood nothing at all will result.  There is another better plan that was going around earlier.

It's just more work than anybody is going to do, it involves filling up EVERYDAY, the basic idea is that if people fill up a little bit every day rather than all at once that individual gas stations won't empty as quickly which will hurt the truckers so on and so forth as the individual gas stations buy less gas.

Also you can do what I already do 90% of the time and go the extra mile to avoid Exxon Mobil.

If this worked in 97 though (which maybe it did I don't know EVERYTHING) surely there must be documentation that can be looked up to prove it.  If we know that it worked then I'm all about it.  My opinion though is that somebody made this up in the hopes that the idea would work.
