  Well, I'm not giving my identity - but here are answers:
  
  1. First of all, the verb is in the wrong tense. It should be "portrays". Fox's 24 had a black president. That's good. I think idiots like Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central set back the cause of race on tv. All he knows is wetback jokes, and because he is hispanic, he can tell them. We need a world of Halle Berry's (mmmm) and guys like/// I dunno... not into guys. Like the guy who is married to Eva Longoria, the hoops guy. people who you don't know what race they are. I think J Lo did herself a disservice by getting so hispanic, her original point was that she broke boundaries, then she re-classified herself as  Latin star. Dumb move, you just gave fans away doing that. I believe in Doctor King's dream, where people just don't look at race, because we are all mongrels of many races and ethnicities.
  
  2. TV is shit, you need to understand that. American Idol offends me, for the same reason the original Monkees offend me. They are stars manufactured by corporate suits, and be honest - Simon Cowell is pure evil in this sense. He revels in his svengali role.
  
  3. Cable/Satellite TV saves the medium of tv as we know it. Say it, know it. Subscriber based revenue streams for companies like HBO mean they are driven to artistic excellence, rather than sponsorship models like regular tv has. Rome, Sopranos, Six feet Under, Entourage - all these shows that are excellent and artistically daring are due to the fact that HBO executives answer to nobody EXCEPT the sat and cable providers, and all THEY want is a channel that sells. Direct to consumer.

  uhmm the answer to the first question is i do get offended once in awhile when they make fun of how our president wear her clothes and how our past first lady collect shoes...
   
  almost everything in the news has its effect on me, there are plenty of stuff in the media that really influence me in decision making... specially now its election period. The media gives me insights about those who are running for office.
   
  there is nothing much i want to change, i have cable so i can have a choice on what i want to watch.
