I lost my voice yesterday. it has made work extreemly difficult...(yes two ee's) but it has made me appreciate my online community even more. i can "talk" without straining. it has made me think about how necessary it is to communicate.. and how unecessary it is to communicate. i thought about how i would communicate with TD were he here and how i have not been communicating with my dh. (this has been a great excuse to not talk with him though).
Communication between humans is important. we are all gregarious creatures. even if we dont need to speak to one another we need the communication that contact provides. the communication of touch, the language of our facial expressions, of our mannerisms.
the communication that just being around another human being, knowing we are not alone provides.
Words have built and destroyed civilizations. But communication in its most basic forms is necessary to survival.
