Thomas Jefforson and the Founding Fathers of this great nation of ours wrote the first amendment of the bill of rights. The words are "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." This does not create a seperation of church and state. This states that the government cannot force a religion or prohibit the creation of a religion. Our country and government was founded upon the ideals and morals of religion. If we continue to build this wall between church and state, then soon the Declaration of Independence will be unconstitutional. The Declaration states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Can you imagine that? The Declaration of Independence, a Document that all Americans hold dear to their hearts, a Document that we all celebrate every 4th of July being declared unconstitutional. It acknowleges a "Creator". Why would the same people who wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights mention a God or Creator in a government document if they wanted to construct a wall between church and state.
Go to Washington D.C., examine the memorials of all of our great Presidents. Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, etc. There are quotes from all these men all over the monuments and more than a third of the quotes acknowlege God. All these monuments are now unconstitutional and must be torn down?
We need to seriously think about the path we have started to move down as a country. Is this the path that we really want to take?
