    Well here's my theory:
     
    There'll be names they don't react to that much and names that they do. 
     
    The ones they are most sensitive to might be deeply held negative beliefs they have about themselves but maybe aren't aware of. So when soemone calls them something that reminds them of that belief, they go ballistic.
