Below are the results from the playoffs for the 2006-7 season (away team listed first):
Wildcard Round
Cincinnati 23, Houston 17
Tampa Bay 17, New Orleans 21
Indianapolis 3, Cleveland 34
Philadelphia 22, Arizona 20
Our matchup with the Colts looked to be a tough one, but we forced five turnovers from their offense and the game wasn't even close. Duckett pounded the ball on the ground, and we scored 4 TDs in 5 red zone visits. The Bengals upset the Texans in a tight one, Kurt Warner and the Saints beat the Saint that never was Drew Brees and his Bucs, and Philly showed the 8-8 Cardinals the door.
Divisional Round
Cincinnati 31, Oakland 34
Philadelphia 27, Green Bay 20
Cleveland 12, Miami 31
New Orleans 21, Washington 27
Oakland got a scare from the Bengals as Tom Brady threw three picks, but led his Raiders on a game winning drive for a TD with under 2 minutes left. Philly put away the team with the best record in the NFC with their win over the Pack. We ran into the Michael Vick experience and came away bruised and battered as Vick ran for 150+ yds and embarrassed our D. Gus Frerotte led the defense-heavy Redskins to a win over the Saints.
Conference Championship
Miami 21, Oakland 41
Philadelphia 14, Washington 36
Oakland put the Dolphins in their place, holding Vick under a hundred yards rushing (91 yds) and benefitted from a number of Phin turnovers. Washington continued its unexpected run by putting away the streaking Eagles.
Super Bowl
Washington 23, Oakland 17
Chris Simms made his return to QB for the 'Skins to lead them to an upset of the favorite Raiders.
