today i had a shitty day. i'll rant that later. but it i felt relieved now after eating a halo halo on a hot summer day.
 
a halo halo is a famous filipino dessert. halo means "mix".  it is basically a mixture of sweet preserved beans, coconut meat (macapuno), jackfruit(langka), gelatin, melon, pounded dried rice (pinipig), sweet yam (ube), cream flan (leche plan), shreds of sweetened plantain (saba) filled with crushed ice, milk and topped with ice cream. it depends on what kind of sweet fruits you added to it.
 
it was a taste of heaven.
 
and for a moment i forgot all my problems.
 
nothing more could i described it when i tasted it.
 
so i'll share it to soulcast. when you have a shitty day. just have a halo halo. =)

    with those pictures it seems like i'm craving for this so much...when i'm in bad mood or stressed i'll just buy for it in chowking or goldilocks and its' a great relief...during my pregnancy period i consumed 3-5 glass of halo2 a day!

    Queen...wow...they look so inviting...i have some reserves for the sweet beans mixed with coconut meat (??) but the colors are amazing and they do look so yummy.....is already hot there, isn'it?

    sweet beans with coconut meat is the best! its a nice combination actually. these halo halo costs lest than a dollar. it depends on the ingredients use.

    Yes Queen, there is halo halo mix in the glass.  And my Aunt´s do improvise when we get together.  But the original is hard to beat!

    I remember going with my Mommy in the market - palengke! - over the weekend, when I was a little girl and we always cap the day by buying halo halo special.

    Queen Honey! Now you ve gone and done it! I ve gotta have Halo Halo. The closest place I can get one is a 12 hour drive away.. Damn! I ll have to whip it up at home. They re just so much better when someone else makes them!
    For those of you who havent tried Halo Halo.....If you live in a major center try to fined a Filipino restaurant in your area. The trip is worth it even if its across town.
    Queen we have a Goldilocks in Canada! The food is WONDERFUL! Uhmmmm.....maybe I ll pass on the pigs ears though......ehhehehe.
