Guys, I'm back - it's a long story... Do you like it black, with sugar, cream, or with the latest twist to the morning coffee industry?

Yes, coffee with soap in your bathroom - no kidding!

I drink coffee with cream and splenda when I make it.  When Starbucks makes it I like the cinnamon dolce.

I just ordered the caffeinne soap about 10 minutes ago.  This was probably the most stunningly good news I've read all week.  I am so sleepy in the morning that it's not uncommon to show up at work "dressed funny". (i.e. socks don't match, only 1/2 of shirt tucked in, etc.)  I hope this jump start to my caffienne solves some of those problems.

I don't drink coffee at all!  Husband takes his with cream and sugar.

Just sugar, when I drink it.    I get jittery with more than one or two cups of any kind, though.  I like my green and black and chai tea.
  • wombat said on Apr 20, 2007....
Bronx:  HI there, and I just saw the link.  Wow.  I'd like to try that soap.  I haven't heard that one before.  Wonder how long I could use it before I had to cut back on my showers--ha....
  • genalonewolf said on Apr 20, 2007....
MMMMMMMMMMM coffee. I like it with cream and sugar, and I like it with just cream, and with just sugar and also just coffee. Ok maybe I just like coffee. lol

A guy that's a tea guy?  Love that.  (Actually, I  only love tea as coffee does a number on me lately...gives me panic attacks!)  But I still drink a little anyway--especially Columbia Papayan....)
  • Lioness said on Apr 21, 2007....
Welcome back Bronx. I don't drink coffee much, but if my palate seeks for it, I like my coffee decaf, with sugar and cream. Iced Coffee is cool too. =)
  • LilStinker said on Apr 21, 2007....
I like it black... just always have. And all that latte mocha frappe junk just drives me nuts! Just try going into Starbucks and ordering a regular black coffee, geez they nearly have a heart attack, haha! :)
  • queenparanoia said on Apr 21, 2007....
just coffe and spoonful of sugar. that's it. soap with coffee??? ewwww....
  • LMari said on Apr 21, 2007....
its so shit that we dont have starbux in capetown. (south africa). we have all the lattes and mocha this and that crap - but its EXTREEMLY expensive and rare. you gotta go to an upmarket expensive coffee place to get a good cuppa joe on the go. so ive become a tea person. but i miss my coffee sometimes. (like a bad ex that was good in bed).

U-I: that's great! Hope your order is to your delight....
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
Daily: thanks. But, surely, the aroma alone is something, isn't it?
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
wombat: Hi. Careful now - you really don't want to have those 'caffeine shakes'.

That's funny, cutting back on showers to go below the caffeine limit!

Tea....hmmmm.....I am quite wary these days because of the possibility of mold on the tea leaves - can really cause serious havoc, despite the health benefits!
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
Gena: well, I guess I know what to send you for a gift sometime?

Haha - that comment would be a great ad for copy, you know.
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
SW: Hi. Missed you too - just had to go AWOL, rather suddenly too.

    Tea, eh? That's great!

I take coffee, tea, or chocolate - depending on my preference, what I'm doing, or what I'm having with it.
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
wombat: is that Colombian tea? There's a joke in there but I'm not touching it, haha. I like Nestle coffee, especially decaffeinated.
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
    Thanks, Lioness.

    Decaf is great!

Iced coffee? Not sure I've had that yet; but I can imagine making it like iced tea, right?

With cream and sugar, that would be delicious! I'll try it out very soon, thanks.
  • genalonewolf said on Apr 21, 2007....

If memory serves correctly SW likes diet coke too, W/lime?

Wombat, you did make me smile. Thank you i needed it.

Bornx, you could never be wrong with coffee as a gift, well for me anyway. loved this post!!!

  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
Lil: yeah, sophisticated gunk too good on the bottom line - small wonder the real smell of coffee can get lost in the making!

BTW, WELCOME TO MY BLOG, LILSTINKER!

Queen: Hi. coffee and sugar but no milk, like black and sweet - interesting.

BTW: you just rub the soap on, your entire body - heehee - does the drinking, unless you lick the bar!
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
    LMari: WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

That's wonderful contextual imagery - 'like a bad ex that was good in bed'.

Pity about the high cost of coffee, although prices may soon change globally, I think.

BTW: Capetown is great, will visit there one of these days!

  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
Gena: well, glad to hear that - something to keep in mind, for later on, someday...; and thanks for visiting and contributing.

Bronx:  No it's a flavored coffee we can get here at a local store.  It's smooth and doesn't give my stomach a whirl...
  • queenparanoia said on Apr 21, 2007....

My coffee with 3 sugar, if they don't have splenda with half/half creamer. Or hazelnut creamer, the milk creamer, I hate powder creamers.
  • gingersoul said on Apr 21, 2007....

Bronx...my dream is to own a copper Gaggia espresso machine.....*sigh*...

In its absence i like a big cup af American coffee in the morning (very big) BUT after lunch my Italian blood kicks in and i have to have my espresso that i prepare grinding my coffee bean and using my Bialetti espresso coffeepot for two.

It gives a dense, concentated packed with caffeine burst...but (to the dismay of my Italian friends) now i have to take it with a little bit of milk.....they boo at me at the bar now........lol....

I use Splenda and i dont like any flavored creamer.

My coffee usally is from Illy (when i have money) or from any South America regions... they are the best....even though Hawaii produces a very robust and smooth coffee....

But i love tea too....so dont be to harsh with SW....:-0

  • Swizzle said on Apr 21, 2007....
I am a coffee snob! I had been searching for the perfect coffee for years.  And outside of flying to Hawaii to have a cup of kona I have to say Kicking Horse is the best.  My morning kicks off with a Latte, 2 sugars, made with homo (whole for those southern neighbours) milk and espresso made with fresh ground Kicking Horse, Kick-ass coffee beans.  I can't drink Starbucks any more as it gives my tummy trouble.  I think they sell Kicking Horse outside of Canada and I know you can buy it online.  It's organic, fairtrade coffee and the flavour of their blends is something starbucks can't hold a match to.
  • CreativeWoman said on Apr 21, 2007....
I have been drinking my coffee at home mixed with chocolate soy milk.  I indulge in an iced coffee or a cappuccino once in a great while when I'm out.

I always have a cafinated beverage within arms reach, 24/7.   I wonder if that has anything to do with my insomnia?  Hmmm!   Coffee - Black, Black & Sweet or Light & Sweet.  Depending on the mood and level of desperation.  Iced Coffee - Black with a hint of sugar.  Tea - just make sure it's hot and don't squeeze the damn bag please.  Pepsi - Ice cold or room temp doesn't matter,  just a splash of bacardi.   Oh yeah, a healthy dose of Baily's in the morning joe is always a good thing!
  • secretlife said on Apr 21, 2007....
I like mine light with sweet n' low.
  • cotteralladams2 said on Apr 21, 2007....

Black and heavy.  I enjoy 'Scandinavian-style' coffee made from Melyta but it's expensive.  A good, dark roast.

  • beyondtheveil said on Apr 21, 2007....
bronx- I drank my first cup at age thirty because coffee tastes so bad. I got used to it with cream and sugar and now its a staple.

I hate it if its strong, so I wouldn't go to Starbucks if they paid me four dollars a cup. I will not drink it if its flavored with anything.

I like a good cup of coffee with cream and sugar to kill the bitter taste.
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
wombat: that's good to know, smoothness in taste is important.

Queen: wow, I bet you're quite a handful!

MsBrad: 3 sugars - quite a sweet tooth you've got there! Yeah, I know what you mean - powder creamers can be so-o messy sometimes, especially in a breeze from somewhere, and the taste is significantly different, too.
  • dailyachesandpains said on Apr 21, 2007....
Bronx, I must admit...the aroma...ulgh!  Since the time I was pregnant, over 4 years ago now, I can't stand the smell!  Makes my belly ache ;-)
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
Ginger: a copper espresso machine - that certainly would heat things up very fast for you in the mornings!

Yeah, espresso with cream would seem strange in many social circles.

Does that include Mexican coffee? They did such a wonderful job promoting Mexican coffee through the telenovella, 'WHEN YOU WERE MINE' (Quand.....Mia).

Hawaiian coffee? Still to taste that one.

Oh, Ginger, but I love tea also - I wasn't being harsh at all on SW!
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
    Swizzle: WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

That's some great taste you've got there - I bet Starbucks can't shake a stick of candle at fair trade coffee either!
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
CW: that's a new one for me - coffee mixed with chocolate soy milk.

Hmmm...two classes of caffeines - yes, I guess they'd be compatible chemically.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out one of these days soon!
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
rightWW: caffeine, rum and/or whiskey and you still have insomnia?

Wow, you must be huge or heavy - which one?
  • Bronx said on Apr 21, 2007....
SL: still watching that girly figure, I spy - a little cream, eh? Fabulous!

  • rightwingwizard said on Apr 21, 2007....
Bronx:  Neither, just wired for sound.  I was one of those hyper kids back in the day (we didn't use that term although, we used terms like sped, spaz and a few other less complimentary terms)
  • Bronx said on Apr 22, 2007....
Cotter: yes, the degree of roasting determines the final flavor of the coffee - a good and robust roasting definitely brings out the best in most foods!

BTW, WELCOME TO MY BLOG, COTTERALLADAMS2!
  • Bronx said on Apr 22, 2007....
beyond: hi. I can understand your aversion for straight-black coffee.

My advice? Believe me, if Starbucks paid you $4 per cup of their coffee you drink, take the deal?

Someone help me out here - what's the minimum wage per hour? Hee hee - I'd take that deal!
  • Bronx said on Apr 22, 2007....
    Daily: Hi.

I had been of the opinion that the aroma of coffee was so sexy, but I guess not for everyone - but then again, a pregnant lady would not be expected to fully appreciate the sexiness when first introduced to coffee in such a condition!

In fact, I would venture to say that coffee may not be appropriate for pregnant women.

There are so many types and flavors - I'm sure there's one just right for you, if you want to drink coffee, of course!
  • Bronx said on Apr 22, 2007....
rightWW: Well, just don't go haywire with those 'other less complimentary terms', or...you might end up like Don Imus!

Bronx.....there, some info about the Hawaian coffee...here..

Puerto Rico exports great coffee too...

About the espresso machine...well, now you know what you can give me as present .....LOL...

And coffee is sexy..........you are so right.....

  • Swizzle said on Apr 22, 2007....
Bronx what that article fails to mention (and this could be local legend) is that Hawaii does not export their best beans out of state. Having a kona at a coffee shop anywhere but in Hawaii is an entirely different cup then the cup you get while you are there.
  • Bronx said on Apr 24, 2007....
Ginger: yep, I'm keeping track of these gift ideas carefully - who knows what tomorrow may bring?

Thanks for the link to Kona coffee - very interesting point there about how coffee quality really depends on how slowly it is grown!

Makes sense now - an uncle of mine managed to grow Kenyan type coffee below sea level. But it was for local consumption mostly.
  • Bronx said on Apr 24, 2007....
Swizzle: that's very funny indeed - if you want real Kona, come to Hawaii!

That could well be true - I've often wondered why some farmers sell their best produce and use inferior or damaged ones for planting!

IMHO, when you plant with the best seeds, surely, the yield would be better and the future assured for a plantation?

Thanks for the insight - I'll keep in mind not to order a Kona outside Hawaii, unless  I can grind the authentic beans myself!
