When i went there, i cant help it but compare it to Manila. That was around summer of 1996. It was worse than Manila, at that time. Pollution was bad, traffic, roads were not fully developed. But as i was saying, that was more than 10 years ago.
I remembered a few places only because from what i recall, i went to a lot of temples there, which of course, i did not enjoy. sorry. I went jet skiing in Pattaya ( I hope i spelled it correctly), Visited a large shrine (I forgot the name, what do you expect, that was more than 10 years ago, add the fact i dont like memorizing stuffs), Rode an elephant and got stepped on by an elephant, floating market, some uughh shops that you have to go in to because it was included in the tour package, which we all know was selling overpriced jades, whatever herbal medicine etc.
Since i was still small back then, i enjoyed Mini Siam(cool! i remembered the name!) its a miniature replica of famous structures. I remembered the mini airport replica there had moving planes, the shipyard has moving boats and its enough to satisfy a kid like me before. i dont know if kids today will be satisfied with that with all the gadgets they own nowadays.
I road their "tuk-tuk", the counterpart of tricycle here in the Philippines. I also bought a 1:12 replica of that transportation.
Presently, my friends and other relatives visited Thailand again and was amazed. They all told me one thing when we exchange experiences. Thailand is now more developed than the Philippines. 10 years ago, we were on top of them. no need to guess whos on top of who now.
