It is lateMon afternoon and we have not yet heard about another appointment. Our facilitator submitted our request for a second interview this morning. No we will wait and wait for an answer. People move at a slower pace in Ukraine. The phrase "I NEED IT YESTERDAY" just does not exist here. People are use to waiting.
I am still amazed at the way that the women dress. They are all beautiful and wear the highest fashions. Leather is extremely popular, especially red leather. They all wear stiletto heels, even on their boots. Their shoes are high and pointed toes. They seem to dress up for everyday life. I have not seen one overweight person here.
I think that all the walking we have to do is actually good for us even though I'd rather be travelling by car! It is amazing how carefully one can conserve water when you know you will have to go buy another gallon and walk a few blocks to get it. We buy bottled water for drinking.
We have a new apartment now. It has a washer, but no dryer. It seems that none of the people here have dryers. Everyone hangs their clothes to dry, inside and out. It was quite amusing to try to figure out how to run a front loading washer when all the instructions are written in Russian.
There are no traffic laws here. It is drive how you want, as fast as you want, and when you want. Ther are no posted speed limits. Cars zip up and down the streets at high speeds. They also come within a fraction of an inch when they stop near anyone.
Thanks for reading!!
