I've discussed my interest in blogging before, and I've said somewhere that I keep several different blogs running along different themes. I have this blog, my literary blog and what I call my "life-in-general" blog. This life-in-general blog, AKA my Deadjournal account, is one that has some of my greatest, most comical, and most personal writings and musings. Unfortunately, in its current state it has garnered the lowest number of readers. And here's why.
I've had that account since May 2004. It has documented a very tumultuous time in my life, and actually makes for a very entertaining read, although some people have told me they couldn't stomach some of the things I've documented. But that portion of the journal is not what I want to focus on. I've had readers during that time, until January 2006 when I stopped in favor of blogging on Myspace. But I find blogging on Myspace very uncomfortable; for some reason either the layout, the format, the color scheme or the overall atmosphere of Myspace
doesn't sit well with me while I'm blogging.
In December 2006, eleven full months after abandoning Deadjournal, I decide I'm more comfortable with their format, so I go back to blogging there. Trouble is, none of my regular readers returned except for two. And I can't help but think some really entertaining anecdotes, one-liners and neologisms are going to waste. Like the following gems:
- I coined the term "ornithological fireworks" but nobody knew. Context: We were testing out the urban legend that feeding Alka-Seltzer to seagulls would make them explode.
- Where else are you gonna hear about my short-lived romantic interest in a woman eight years older than me? Who lives over 400 miles away with her comfortable office job and a four-year-old daughter?
- Horror stories from day care (see the entry entitled This is America, we have bathrooms!)
- And I really recommend my year-in-review blogs.
At any rate, here it is. This is my Deadjournal, where I blog about my life as it happens. I am inviting you all into this little sanctuary of mine, and I welcome my fellow Soulcasters to comment if they wish. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing and sharing it.
