It's saturday night here in Taipei and me and my boyfriend are going to Ministry of Sound [MoS]. DJ Matt Hardwick [whoever that is] is playing tonight.

I've heard his music and it was good and he's supposed to be quite famous as well. So it's should be good.

I wasn't really familiar with trance or progressive or whatever it's called music. I could listen to it but wouldn't really know how to dance or move with it unless i'm on drugs. Well, that was in the past. I still don't know the difference between trance and progressive, but i found some tunes that i really like, and to my amazement -- can even dance with it [I swear i'm not on drugs].

My friends back in Jakarta loved that kind of music. So i was starting to learn to love it. Although basically i can just dance with any music (80's, disco, pop, hip hop, r&b, whatever - although it's funny cause i don't really dance). My boyfriend also loves trance music. He's even wishing that he can make his own trance music. He just doesn't have the tools. They're expensive. Oh, have i told you that my boyfriend is such a talented musician? :) Too bad he doesn't want to make it more than just a hobby. Damn, he could be a rock star or something. Hehehe  ^_^

Anyway, this is the video of Matt Hardwick [the dj playing tonight in MoS Taipei] I can find on YouTube. [wait, how the hell do you paste youtube on SC???]

So, are you familiar with trance music? Do you like it? What do you think about it? I used to think that it's a kind of music for people on drugs, but not anymore.

Anyway, have a great weekend everyone!!

missb:  i'd heard about this type of music because we were on vacation in the bahamas a few years ago and this is what was playing in all the clubs...

to me, the electronics, synthesizer makes the music very 70's...and the psychedelic lights make it sooooooooo 60's....

    what goes around...goes around again!

what do you wear to these types of clubs on a saturday nite in 2007??

Hasn't this music been around for a while now?  I didn't honestly know it had a name!  I hope you have/had a great time!

Secret, I think you wear next to nothing to clubs these days.  Just a hunch, lol!  Back when I used to go out, it was becoming that way.  That was a long time ago now though.

    SL,

LoL....you're right, i never thought about that, but the music and lights do make it so 70's and 60's :)

What we wear to these types of club? LoL, me, i just wore a black tank top and jeans. But for some, daily was right, they wear next to nothing :)

    Daily,

Yeah, it probably has. But in the past all i knew was house music. Now that, is the kind of music for the drugged-up people :) And yeah, i had a great time. Thanks.

    Cheers!

    SL dear,

I'm -- what -- the -- ugh! Sorry that i'd gone awol again. It's so sweet of you to ask. My laptop crashed bout 3 weeks ago. My bf was using it when it suddenly crashed (I blamed him of course :) I couldn't even get to the main windows. So we went to a computer shop and the guy said that my hard disk's fucked. Great, just what i needed. So anyway, he said that we'd have to get a new one for about US$85 (NT 2800).

My bf was gonna do it but thought that we'd better go to Acer first than just trusting someone from a computer shop. But the thing is we're kinda broke at the time. Our money was barely enough to eat, so fixing a computer was kinda low on the priority list. It's a good move because 2 weeks after that we totally ran outta money :/ Of course with money that little i couldn't even spare NT40 to go to some internet cafe to visit SC for an hour.

Anyway, i'm back now. The hard disk's replaced by a new one. I just hope nothing bad would come up again. I'm loving the free and pretty fast internet connection btw ;)

I hope everything's ok with you, SL and everybody else on SC. I'm noticing some 'dispute' on SC again. Oh well, it won't ever end huh. C'est la vie.

    Cheers!

why is it that there's just never enough money to go around???

    glad you're well.

Love them or hate them?

I am old enough to remember the Saturday Night Fever craze. The soundtrack filled with Bee Gees songs will always be one of my favorites. I got caught up in the disco fever of the day....
