I think that far too many people appear take themselves -way- too seriously, and as such, they feel the need to come up with these silly convoluted arguments about false opinions just to demonstrate their intelligence. I think this indicates a fairly low level of self-esteem, to be completely truthful. Anyone I've ever met who is smart, but doesn't think much of themselves, will go out of their way to try and get others to think highly of them. While I understand this motivation, it occurs to me that if they'd stretch their brains a bit farther outside intelligence and into the realm of wisdom, they would realize that the only opinions about them that truly matter are the ones they draw about themselves. What is your opinion of yourself? Low? High? (I think any human being who has mor than a good opinion of themselves is completely batshit, but that aside.) If it's low, why? Is it because you feel you have no good traits, or is it because you know somewhere inside that you really are a complete asshole? If it's the former, sit down and think about whether or not this is really true. Being realistic about yourself is very important, and that includes being aware of the positive traits you contain as well as being aware of your shortcomings. Of course, this is my opinion. It may well not be anyone else's. But I think it's also good advice. -Fuschia
