have you seen the show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? I think it is great. It really just shows how much useless crap you learn in school that never follows you through life.
I have so realized that I am not smarter than them, although I didn't think I would be, when considering the questions that are asked.
I love sitting and watching it wiht my daughter, who is in 3rd grade. She loves it too, because she actually gets more answers correct that I do. In fact we have started recording it and my daughter takes it to school and the teacher has the kids watch it and actually answer the questions.
It is great that the teacher uses it as a learning tool for the kids in her class. Of course the kids think it is so much fun. My daughter isn't allowed to participate since we watch it at home, but she helps the teacher.
I am actually surprised that more of the other kids do not watch it at home. It really is a fun game show. If you haven't watched it, you should, especially if you have elementary age kids at home.
Lucky for me, I have so far at least been smarter than the adult contestants on the show. It is really helping my daughter with self esteem too, because she can answer more questions than me.
It is so much fun.
I am drowning my sorrows in a bowl full of kid's cereal - Cookie Crisp, dinner of champions. I could have easily made a case for eating cookies for dinner, but at least this way I can pretend to have eaten real food.

Well, SC - I am teetering on the brink. It seems like I should be a lot more upset than I actually am, but I am taking consolation in the knowledge that I have done the absolute best that I could. Also, there's still a chance I can achieve the grades... read entire post

Maybe it won't go down like this, but it's getting close to the wire. My academic performance is slightly better, but inconsistent, and there's no way to know if I will make the grade until we see how I do on my final exams in a few weeks.

6 more days - sounds crazy, but this is the longest I have ever gone without seeing my family, and I can't wait to go home!
My advisor made me promise I would come back - yeah, I promise. I have unfinished business here, LOL, and as much as ... read entire post
