Who's reading sulpot (5):
I have just returned from a business venture of sorts and I am
now relaxed, and just in the mood to relive my soulcast days.

Associated with my business travel plan was a place where I
saw a number of foreigners. I asked my local guide if there are
any tourist attraction in this place and he told me that the
foreigners I saw were customers of a local faith healer.

He added that the faith healer operates on his customer with just
the use of his bare hands. No mask, no oxygen, no set of scalpels, no
nothing. Just his hands. I told him there's no way I can believe him.

I added that if he can led me to somebody who had been operated on
by the faith healer and was healed, then maybe I can believe his story.
I was surprised when he took his shirt off and pointed to a vertical healed wound on his stomach where he was operated on by the faith healer for appendicitis.

I think it was a story on 20/20 or 60 minutes that I saw this story.

His name was "John of God" and he does this in Brazil.  He would "operate" on people and cure them.  If it works, great, if it doesn't that's too bad.  I would like to see if he could cure my aches and pains though.

    Hello.. welcome back!!

I don't have anything against faithhealers. Some people claim to have been "healed", because whether you believe it or not, some have the "gifts of healing". But such venture has been used as a vehicle to amass money from sick patients. People who claim to be faith healers abound in almost every part of the Phils. The "procedure" is even video taped and proved that the "surgery" is fake, as shown in local investigative shows. But still, people patronize them simply because they want an inexpensive way of easing their ailments.

Oh well... what a rather ingenous way of luring money.

queen, ok sa imo if one of these days i'll meet you there at SanAg? daily, glad to hear from you again. is the back still bothering you? In my case I've stopped playing basketball to preclude another bout of back spasms lioness, well said. Some form of a scam operation. The problem is the absence of a tough law against these faith healer profiteers . Indeed there are those who are gifted healers and dont even charge anything at all. But many are pretender healers who con their patients out of their hard earned savings. Miss your grooowl, lioness.
