I love the fresh from the dentist feeling--the slick cleanliness of your teeth that just makes you want to run the tip of your tongue over them again and again.
mmmm....slick and clean.
And I love that the freshly cleaned feeling you get from the dentist seems to last and last through the day.
I'm a strange creature, I suppose. (And right now a good friend is falling out of his chair laughing at me saying "I suppose" to my being strange.)
I really do love going to the dentist. I always have since I was a child. I've never dreaded it, not even when I had to have teeth pulled before I got braces or when I had my wisdom teeth cut out by the oral surgeon.
In fact, I find it a rather relaxing experience to go to the dentist. In fact the dental hygienist and I joked today that it would perfect to have a Dental Spa where you could get a pedicure or a foot massage while having your teeth cleaned.
Sometimes I think that if it weren't for the "scritching" as they check for plaque, I would actually be able to sleep in the dental chair. Well, the grit from the paste and the noise from the polisher when they clean my teeth would probably keep me awake, but you never know.
I suppose I've never been in dread of a dentist visit because I have been very fortunate with my teeth and checkups. Until last year, I hadn't had a cavity in over 30 years. Plus, I've never had a bad experience with a dentist.
Or perhaps the oddness of enjoying dental visits runs in the family. My son, who is 5, actually likes visiting the dentist as well. He has since his first visit when he was about 3. Although, he's such a cute little stinker that he charms all the dental hygienists and the office manager there that it probably really helps in his enjoyment of the experience.
[runs tongue over teeth again].
Yep, slick and clean. I love that feeling.
