I just finished baking a 3-layer carrot cake that is one of my favourite recipes. The fact that I did indeed find the time and energy to bake only leads to one thing in our house...requests. Can I please make...cookies, brownies, sugar pie, flapper pie, muffins, cake, cheese cake, etc., etc., etc.
This lead me to (have you ever read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"? This is how my brain works sometimes.) I have some great recipes! Which in turn lead me to "WOW! I could share a recipe a week for something different!
Yes, I could-and have been known to-search the web for baking inspirations or I could simply just ask-here it is...wait for it...wait for it...
Is there anyone out there who has a killer COOKIE or BAR recipe that they would like to share?
I am posting the most awsome, never been shared before, Mistake Bar Recipe. It's simple and really yummy.
Chocolate Chip Squares
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup semi-sweet choclate chips (or hershey's mini kisses)
To Prepare:
1. Preheat oven to 350٥F
2. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla
3. Add flour, and mix well.
4. Blend in chocolate chips.
5. Press into an 8"x 8"x 2" pan.
6. Bake at 350٥F for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
7. Cut into squares while still warm.
8. Cool before removing from pan.
These are a family favourite. And, even with all the baking I do my kids are still toothpicks. Except for the baby (he's plump and pudgy).
Next week...
Sugar Pie.
