As I was watching my "boyfriend" on CBC's The Hour http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/ George pulled up this clip of one of my favourite childhood characters singing a NIN tune. So, as I was showing my near 17 year old this post he was questioning my title, etc. I guess it's a good sign to me that when I started showing him the actual video (after he finished chuckling about Kermit re-doing a NIN song) we both had to stop watching. It disturbed him to see the frog associated with the needle. I fear had I gone on longer into the video he would have fainted. And so, I know it's not just me! But would you consider it wrong that I let him see this?

Well. I watched the video. And, try as I might, I cannot see a way to justify the reason for making such a video. It really didn't take much skill or creativity to take a cute nostalgic character and turn him into a drug addicted, depressed being. And to have Kermy blowing Ralph...what's the point. I get the idea..Kermy needs drug money. Whatever. It is shallow. Beyond being an insult to the Jim Henson and his family, it just serves no purpose. Take it off the internet. -
