Who's reading botoni (150):
People often talk about who they were in former lives. Sometimes its just joking around but some people are totally serious about having former lives. It isnt a belief I hold to but I like to play with the idea.
There is a certain tantalization to thinking we may have lived a past life or lives. We can have some entertainment imagining what our circumstances were, where we lived, who we associated with and who we were are selves. It seems to me that most people who talk about their former lives were someone famous or simply fabulous. Is there no one who was just the ordinary person in a previous life?
If I m going to speculate I think I was a galley slave in Roman Times. Nothing dramatic there but I wonder how I became a slave. Probably I sat beside Ben Hur and rowed along with him. Saw from a distance what he did. Then when worn out was thrown overboard as food for the fish.
So tell all.....Who were you? What did you do? How did that turn out?

I like to imagine that I lived in Ireland, maybe in the 1600's.  I also have funny little "flashes" that seem real for a second or two--and saw myself as an old priest being burned on a wooden and straw funeral pyre.  Very wierd, those flashes I get.  But mostly, I would like to have worn those long, swishy dresses, going up the castle stairs to look out to sea for my lover to return... So romantic.

well, i think if i had past lives, i was probably just an ordinary person too.

perhaps one of Cleopatra's attendants...with my luck one of the ones who was with her in her tomb when she let out the asps!

maybe i was a french courtesan who inspired some great painting or poem...perhaps that's why the sound of the french language is so appealing to me...among other things!

i don't really subscribe to the idea of past lives, but given my fondness for the tales spun by the inestimable alexandre dumas, i'm inclined to think that in a past life i was once a musketeer. :>

Wombie.....I can picture you swishing up the stone stairwell in volumns of fabric! Of course decked in precious jewels and wearing hand embroidered slippers! AHHHH....what a sight!
Secretlife....Ohhhhhhhhh Cleo's attendant. What a seductive and sexual image! Watch her when she s heading for the asps. Try and snake out for some water or something huh.
A the tingle of French! Couche moi mon petite ami?

When I went to see a 'medium' she told me I was a fighter pilot in a past life.  Funny, as I HATE to fly and at the time I had still been dealing with the death of my cousin in a plane crash.

Silverwhisper.....Gallopping horses, flying capes, and duels with swords! You ll forever be etched in my mind now as the brave and gallant rescuer of us all.
Daily....sorry about your cousin. Your fighter pilot image immediately brought to my warped mind a picture of you and Snoopy flying side by side through the clouds! Keep on fighting!

Interesting post.  The longer I live the less I rule out stuff like this.  I become more and more open minded.

I am also one that has dreams and flashes of things that make me wonder if it was in a past life.    Here goes...

I think I was a courtesan (as well SL) in Venice wearing long flowing dresses with scooped necklines and beautiful ornaments in my hair.  While I loved one man and one man only ---- my "job" was to take care of many, especially the prince.

I know there were horses involved  and a horse accident of some sort and I am really afraid of horses in this life for some reason....I had a slave girl that would come and help me bathe and get ready for my adventures that I adored and treated like my own daughter.

I also flash back to Ireland and am so moved by Celtic music I often cry when I listen to it today.  Incidently I've never been but I long to go there like it's my home.

So um....you tell me.....more than one past life?

Daily.......One of my favorites too! Charlie Brown is my hero and as I think about it I may have been Lucy in a former life. "The doctor is in!"
MissingUndies!.......I can see that! You and SL entertaining the masses......hehehe. Hmmm.....I ve got to give some thought to this body slave business.....maybe I ll run an ad in the help wanted column. Celtic music and Ireland.....gimme Riverdance!

In my past, I have been stubborn and hard to learn. Much as I am now. I doubt I have ever been famous or well known though I can concieve of having been a village matchmaker, or healer. Someone who helps others find what they seek.

I am glad I am who I am now because I really really like having grape slushies.

I can't be sure if past life memories are real or just a figment of ones own imagination,or possibly both.Assuming they are real and sometimes credible, then without a doubt,I was Napoleon Bonaparte,(Napoleoni Buonaparte),to be truly accurate.I've had vivid memories of this, one of which is of me stating "I Am the God of Battles".Interestingly,in my life I've had to learn to not always make war with others.Sometimes it is wiser to just let them be.

I'm pretty sure I was a man in another life, probably a samurai.  I have always had this strict code of conduct and a unearthly sense of how to defend myself, even before taking lessons.  I am a natural born defender of the young and helpless.

I think I will pass. When I was 12 I wanted to be a singer and i wanted to be in red or green dress standing on a stage in the Wild West. I found a name for my self. My little cousin had also been calling me the by that forename. I found out it belonged to a dancer and all my life I´ve been finding more out about that woman. In many ways her temperament is like mine. But my life has been nicer. I don't know what she wants from me that woman. she can not have been me. I am not saying more.

I am not sure what I may have been before, but whatever it was had to be unconventional and convoluted, because it has sure as hell hasn't stopped being such this time around either.

I think I was an ordinary girl that lived during the rennaissance...i love that period in history... I probably watched the princess and wondered why they wasted so much time with fancy dresses and nonsense...and fell in love with a prince that I couldn't have and married the black smith instead. I most likely spent my free time by myself, hidden away writing little stories to entertain myself.

I was once told that I was a Thai warrior given to bouts of depression which eventually lead to my taking my own life on the battlefield.

I actually have had dreams that I was a direct descendant of Moses and lived in Biblical times.  I still remember them in vivid detail.

    Weird, huh?

I think we live past lives in our current life. We change with every change of life.

I was a different person at 10 and at 12 and at 15, etc.

I've been a different person at 20 and at 25 and at 30 and now at 37.

Not changing lives would probably be sad. Changing too much would probably be sad as well.

Oh this is a fun post.  I have an idea that I may have drowned in a past life or something where I couldn't breathe, because I have asthma now and for some reason I feel like I need to pay back or learn to appreciate being able to breathe.  I also think I may have had something to do with Ireland or England just because I feel drawn to there for no particular reason.

I lived during the medieval period.  My name was Bliss and I was a princess and quite beautiful plus had the perfect body. Men from all over would came to joust  to tyr and win my hand. I was somewhat flippant to my suitors but the one that I would give my soul too had to really prove that he was worthy.  Once I had found the one to share my kingdom with I did not rule over him but allowed him to be king. The one that won my hand was named, Blade and  I gave myself completely to him, and he was really hot in bed ;). He looked a lot like Oded.  I was  able to take care of myself as I  was as smart as any man,  an accomplishded swordsman, hunter and could do anything else a man could do.  So for me to have a mate was solely dependant on someone being my equal.  I was also  a spitfire and would sometimes be a shrew just to torment my husband so he would give chase and ravish me.  I gave him 4 sons but died giving birth to our 5th child which would have been a girl. My husband being the king  never married again as he was never able to find anyone that ever rivaled me or came close.  He built great monuments in my honor. He  lived to be old and raised our children to be fine people and to be loved by their subjects because of their wisdom and kindness.

Bot.......maybe i was Scheherazade....there is something about the vibrant color of Eastern culture that simply resonates in me.....i sigh when i see those patterns, those fabrics...those intricate jewerly......She was a queen and a storyteller and she defied her destiny with her intelligence and words skills.......I like that...

I am also intensely attracted to Medieval churches....i like their structure, their smell, the light that filters thru their detailed and elegant window panes..maybe i was a monk copying some Latin codex in some convent..i love clusters, stones arches, gateways....

But since i have a vivid recurrent dream in which i always fall and fly i could have been just a beautiful eagle....and that would be just fine with me...:-)
