  • i don't hear the cat hacking and i round the corner of the dining room only to step square in the middle of a particularly squishy and juicy hairball with my bare feet.
  • i stub my toe on the same corner of the same flipping bookshelf three times in one day.  [grumbles and cries]  damn, that hurt!

    Mimi--ewww...I've leaped out of bed in the middle of the night to answer the call of the little guy and landed my foot in cat vomit.  And yes, the nearly 80 degrees one day and mid-40s the next is making me a bit crazy.  ugh.

    RWW--yeah...that too.

    Unique--I hate that too.  I hate it more when you have a list and somehow miss that one thing you really need which is on the list!

    I hate it when I get home from work and my dog greets me with a huge jump on you hello and she's been rolling in cow shit!

    I hate it when I forget to rinse the conditioner out of my hair and only realise it when I'm trying in vain to dry it....

    IHIW my cat wakes me demanding love and the moment I go to stroke her she attacks me, no holds barred.

    IHIW my cat sucks on my hair while I'm asleep in bed and then, just as I am on the threshold of waking, the noises change to much more ominous ones.

    IHIW I leap out of bed following said ominous sounds and discover  the warm, slimy vomit pools with my bare feet.

    IHIW my cat wakes me at 5am every damn day to feed her even though I make her wait till 6:30.

    IHIW I make an extra effort to rouse myself to feed my cat at unearthly hours and she looks at it and walks off without touching it.

    IHIW I shut my cat out at night and instead of her sucking, slurping, heaving and otherwise being attention seeking she spends the entire night scratching at the door and carpet to be let in...

    Have I mentioned I love my cat? <3

    P.S., some of you people must really, really love having your cats around because they seem to cause you more than a little grief with their claws, attitudes, hair balls, and vomit.

    I know this isn't going to go over too well in some circles but.. IHIW people complain to me that they can't loose weight and how nice it would be to be as thin as me.  It's as hard to gain as to loose, sometimes. I also HIW my cat decides the baby needs to be cleaned at 4 in the morning!

    IHIW the men in the house "forget" to put the toilet seat down (despite agreements forged in blood) and I fall in at night.  I make sure to go back to bed and put my "frozen by ceramic" ass right up on the BF.

    .....people call the wrong number ...mine...and then ask twenty questions convinced I am LYING about there being no Mr. Pracnagfarganatic at this number.

    .....telphone solicitors CALL BACK when you have hung up on them.

    ...... tears stream down my face when I am angry. This makes people think I'm sad and seeking attention. I'm not. If I am crying....you need to run. Fast.

    .....my kids leave the chairs pushed out from the table. My dog then jumps up on the  table. Then he is too afraid to get down. Then he whines and cries until I come rescue him. Then he licks the inside of my nose. That is gross.

    ..... my cat gets all affectionate. He nibbles on my face. This is painful.

    Lady Gamer~ I completely agree with you on the people calling the wrong number. I had one guy argue with me because he was so convinced I was lying. I hung up on his stupid ass and he called back, so I picked up the phone, then slammed down. He finally got the point on the third time. IHIW I make two trips to the store to buy the one thing I need having forgotten it during my first trip, but then realizing, upon getting home, that I needed another item. IHIW people don't know the meaning of a four-way or three-way stop. IHIW my dog hides from my mom and I when it's for her to take a bath. It's a pain to get her to come out. Because it's such a pain, my mom and I have to keep from saying the "b" word around her AND we can't get any of her towels out or she'll know what's up and she'll hide. IHIW people think that they're stories are so awesome that they automatically rank them as number one, as a feature, and as a lead story placing at the top of the section page without consulting the editor of the section. And all because they want it to be on the front page of the website and get a bazillion hits or whatever. Gah, it's not a popularity contest.

    Z, under certain conditions I will howl at the new moon. This last week or so has been one long string of such conditions. I resorted to howling at a street lamp while walking the dog.

    Zayda:  That one made me chuckle.  When I was growing up in the olden days my mom was a 'stay at home mom' as was the norm in those days.  When we got home from school in the afternoon my brothers , sisters & I could always tell exactly where she had been in the house that day.  There was a cup of cold, barely touched coffee in nearly every room, sometimes more than one.

    RWW--I'm not that bad!!! I only lose about one cup of tea a day and usually find it within an hour. :-/ heheeh. Although, I have been known to go to reheat a cup in the microwave and leave it in the microwave for an entire day.


    Silver, luckily, I rarely have that problem. Contacts generally stay in my eyes. ;p

    Zayda:  I have to admit that I have pulled the reheat trick myself a few times, then I wander around looking for that damn cup of coffee for the rest ot the day.  That is until I decide to reheat yet another cup (the coffee pot turns itself off after an hour so the coffee is usually cold) and the previous one is still in the micro, stone cold.

    No, Z, this is not a euphemism. In her world view, bread becomes toast when it is warm to the touch and shows a hint of pale beige. I prefer my toast to have a solid brown color and some texture. The other night she didn't hear the oven timer and so an entire batch of muffins came out with dark brown bottoms and tiny wisps of burnt edge. I find them most tasty and she won't touch them at all.

    Actually, Mimi, they're primarily her muffins as she eats her breakfast on the go and I generally only have a couple from each batch. But this time I get the entire 30-muffin batch. :D :D :D

    You do have to wonder, though, about the quality of the life of a guy who posts to the world his happiness at getting to eat burnt bran muffins. ;)
