Well, I am back. At least for a little while. Here's the update on the cancer and Birthmom search.
First, let me thank everyone for their prayers and warm thoughts. It really helped.
My surgery was a success. Recovery was a little longer than I had originally thought it would be and I am still very tired. But, everything is healing well and the pathologist seems to think we got it all. So a BIG *WHEW* there. AMEN!
While I was in recovery, my uncle died of spinal meningitis. He was 63. Started out as lower back pain, just like a normal back ache. Then, four days later.... he's gone. It was a wild week for me. I came home from the hospital, the city turned my water off. (Yes, it helps when you pay your bill.) It took two days to get the jerks out there to turn it back on. My uncle died and I got a phone call back from a private investigator that I had talked to months before in Canada. He found my birth mother.
Meanwhile I have 20 some people at my house for a bbq. (yes, my family doesn't understand the meaning of "rest" they think that being surrounded with everyone is a good thing, and I make the call to my birth mother. (Cuz you know.. I just couldn't stand it.)
Turns out.... I have an older sister that she gave up a year before me. Half of what I thought I knew about her and the whole situation was BS. She filled me in on it all, and we talk every night now. I found her on her birthday, and about two hours after she had gotten engaged. hehe... Happy Birthday Mamason. hehe.
My mother and father still don't know quite how to take it all. But all in all they are very supportive.
I don't have the money, nor the physical wellness yet to make the trip to Canada to meet my birthmother. We've exchanged pictures and such. We sound alike, look alike and have a ton in common.
Anyway. I wanted to thank everyone for the support and prayers and give you all an update.
