Should they bring this technology to the United States?

OWWW-I think it is a great idea, as long as the woman isn't just trying to get back at her mate. :/

Someone was asking what happens if some girl just forgets in the heat of the moment.  My response.  She'll get hit, hard and often as I'll hae a hard time buying it was an accident.

uh oh, maybe they need to have something that will remind them before any sex takes place, like a beeper or homing device.

Now I've seen everything!  Can see it's good points (no pun intended) but I would freak if I had to deal with that, I'm sure.  Would give me nightmares, and still may.....

I would not use one,  but in some areas that rape is prevalent, I think it is great but what happens if it slips and you get bitten?

Sean_ still waiting for a link to your literotica stories ;)

i want the damned thing to sever and possibly inject acid. if it does not completely disable the rapist, the woman will be killed in addition to raped. and eventually, men will start using tools to rape women instead of their members. thereby completely circumventing the thing.

silverwhisper:  Right on as always!  (and I do read about the travesties in 3rd world countries, as well as in so-called "civilized" parts of the world, by the way)  Not to mention first-hand experience in certain aspects of this conversation.

One step further--and just when would we see a woman on trial for "malicious injury" for some sick-o complaining that it was his "meds" that did it--or some other lame defense.  Not trying to slam your comment--just know how it can dwindle down to the "prove it" game in courts.
  • mom said on Mar 26, 2007....
Wombat you are right about that.
  • wombat said on Mar 26, 2007....
Hope I didn't get side-tracked there.  Thanks momWomen unite!  Sorry silverwhisper, if I said an off-the-train of thought comment.  Hope others reply!  Heavy subject, and perhaps I should bow out for now.  I would like to read more on this!

Sure, why not?  I mean, half the population is apparently carrying around guns for crying out loud and somebody wants to complain about this?

  • genalonewolf said on Mar 27, 2007....
I am all for it myself, but what happens if the rapist is HIV positive and starts to bleed inside the woman being attacked? I know it sounds a little gross but it could happen and the woman would be infected with the virus. Of course she wouldn't have been raped which is a good thing!
  • SeanRenaud said on Mar 27, 2007....
If she was being raped she was/could catch AIDS anyway so this doesn't seem like a quality reason.  My only reason against is that it could be accidently forgotten about and used.  Like I said that isn't the kind of thing that most guys are going to laugh off when the SO says oh crap I forgot to take it out!
  • genalonewolf said on Mar 27, 2007....
I understand that if she was being raped she could get AIDS, but this is supposed to be an anti-rape device right? And she could still get AIDS!
  • SeanRenaud said on Mar 27, 2007....
While I suppose avoiding AIDS should be taken into consideration I would think that it woudln't be first and formost in the concept of avoiding rape.  Its not like it becomes legal to rape if your STD free.

Nothing fishy about this modern chastity belt with a bite!

The inventor is South African, so she knows what she's on about: many HIV+ men deliberately rape women rampantly anyway, and a wound from these beauties may actually prevent further rapes by the same individual, and ultimately check the spread of AIDS that would have occurred otherwise.

    Great post, SR.

I think that anything that can deter rapists is a good idea. However, if we put these into use in the US, how many rapists are going to start inserting something besides their member beforehand to make sure they won't get bitten? I have found that the greatest rape deterent is a gun, a permit to carry it, and the determination to use it if you need to.

  • silverwhisper said on Sep 29, 2007....
strictly speaking, w/out hard stats on rapes prevented through gun ownership, that's a very difficult statement to take as anything more than just opinion.

It's likely that it will make a lot of would be rapes into murders.

Of course that might be preferable to some people.
