To me I see Obama as having someone who has a vision for America that is somewhat in harmony with the one that I have and I think that most peple do. I think we believe in equality even though we do not appear to know how to live it. I think we do not believe in oppression but do not know exactly how to not oppress and to free ourselves of it.--Martin Luther King had a dream for our country and I cannot believe that Jesus or the Divine Intelligence that created it all has a lessor vision. Suppression and oppression comes from lack of respect for all people. It is the foundation that we must create and build upon.Religion separates people. It does not teach respect of all people instead it sets it's self above all people and claims that all that do not believe as they do will be punished and go on to an eternal punishment of a burning hell. That is not love. That is not my vision for the world. It does not create equality. If I would not treat my children that way why would I follow someone that does that and teaches it as a righteous thing?? I'd rather vote for Oprah because she has a greater vision than all of those running.

In my opinion Obama is a classic politician, has the gift of the gab, and is saying all the right things most want to hear. If he is elected, I hope he behaves like he speaks. You said, " religion does not teach respect of all people," I thought Jesus taught that. Did I misunderstand your intent? -

My vision is not much different from those who created our country. I believe in equal rights which we have not acheived. I believe that we should begin in our own country to uplift people, help them out of poverty and see that no one goes to bed hungry. We, as a people, have to be the best that we can be, instead of going around the world trying to improve other people and their country. My vision is America waking up and using her resourses to take care of her own people and her own country. An America that is not known for agression but her love for peace. A country where the dollar is not worshipped for honesty and integrity are used to solve problems no matter where the dollar falls. A country where everyone voice counts and is heard and communication means people talking about problems and resolutions instead of going to war. Be it in the homes, the streets or far away war is war and affects everyone. No one is outside of it"s mighty loop. -

Muckraker; Indeed, Jesus did teach respect for all others and lived respectful of all people that knew him as an example for us of how to live. Does religion appear to respect all people. You might examine the posts and see how respectful each of are to others peoples opinions and beliefs and see how good we are doing. Religious wars have murdered innocent people for thousands of years. Each wants the other to believe as they believe and live as they live. Each wants to be the one left that will become the rulers of the world and all of the people that are on it because they will be uplifted over the nonbelievers. Each appears to be ready, willing and able to sacrafice the world, all of it's natural resources and it's people in order to say "I told you so I was right and you are wrong". I, personally do not see an example of great respect for others according to the history of religion or it's present day beliefs or actions. If you do please enlighten me.
