She's a fog that slips over my mind
That voice inside that isn't kind
Dwelling on the bad
With thoughts that make me sad
I fight her
But she is a saboteur
She creeps in
Thinking she will win
Keeping me down
Turning a smile to a frown
Telling me I'm not good enough
But I will call her bluff
A positive wind will bring change
Blowing her fog out of range
She counts on my fear
To keep me near
But I will follow through
There is nothing she can do
She is losing her control
I'm taking back my soul

I suppose we all struggle with that inner voice from time to time. I don't see it tapping you on the shoulder for very long at a time though. :-)

Rather nice, good rhythm. It sounds like a struggle within oneself over identity. It seems to mention the desire to overcome the situation. I like the subtle use of metaphor-it enhances the poem without overpowering it. -
