The page you were looking for no longer exists

I was reading Ginger's Post and was wondering how many of you delete your old posts. I keep mines as a reminder of how far I've come in life,as a writer, with my opinion and thoughts in general. It's sort of like my own little progress report of sorts. I haven't looked back yet but I want to soon. Why do you delete these posts? Aren't they like your memories? Do they bare as much importance as memories?

HH, I have recently found out, from Silverwhisper aka Ed, that you can put your posts back into Draft mode even after people have commented.  This is what I now do when I want to remove stuff from public view.  I dont want to delete stuff that I've poured my heart into.  I see it as history I can look back on and how things have changed in the interim.  One day I might sit and look back and reminise.

i never delete my blogs. i like to look at 'em again sometimes, remember friends who aren't part of the SC landscape anymore (e.g., hunter).

i understand others do and i'm sure that makes perfect sense for them, but it isn't a choice i could ever make.

I've deleted a few, but when I do, I'm usually sorry I did it. It only happens if I read it the next day and am embarrassed by it. The things I recently deleted I have copies of on my hard drive.

I deleted posts because I wanted a fresh start.  I feared the wrath of my MIL if she or her daughter found me.  It would be a never ending battle.  It was only after I deleted all of what I had up there that I said "To HELL with them" and didn't care if they found me.  I wasn't stating anything that wasn't true!

HH- I have deleted three posts and they were where I made a purely unsuccessful attempt at "writing". They were not a part of me, so I see no loss. However, if I should ever attempt such a thing again, I'll find out what Ed means by placing posts in draft, whatever that means.

Beyond, it means you click the Edit Button on the post in question and right at the bottom there are two boxes - one says make post "Public" and the other "Draft" - if you click on Draft it will make the post so that only you can see it - you can do this even after people have commented - only you will be able to see your post and all the comments.

    I hope this helps.

I deleted a few blogs. They wee my first blogs here. I thought I was on the wrong track talking about things in the past that were not so nice. I´m really a cheerful person not a moaner and I thought no, not this. I was going to give up blogging here and I just wrote that I had deleted all my post. Polarheart´s kindness and friendliness persuaded me to go on here and I don't regret it.  since  then I have not deleted a blog. I also have a blog in my native tongue and I have not deleted a post there.

I have only deleted one.. Was something I posted at a time when I was feeling pretty down.. But by reading the replies to this blog I see we can put our posts back into draft mode.

I delete more than I keep.

If I post something and it gets few comments I delete it. If I have a bout of depression and vent here, I usually delete it after a few days. Over the years I have learned I like my posts to be maintained, not having anything I don't feel impacted anyone. I don't write to see where I've been or where I'm going, I write to try to move people. But occasionally I will write for myself, usally deleting those as well. Over they years I've kept nothing that I have ever written online. Even my erotica, I'd rather rewrtie it from memories. But that is me and I'm twisted.

I don't have to much to write about. Nothing really interesting. I am here reading blogs and leaving comments....
