BlueHotRage reads (9):
Tomorrow, I prepare to brave one of the most trecherous, ominous and most frightening places in California--Los Angeles.

My plane actually leaves tomorrow afternoon, so there will be much to do in the intervening hours after work today.

It has been many years since I was last in that city--and I will never forget that horrible day that I saw one of the worst movies I've ever seen in that dilapidated LA movie theater, surrounded by screaming larvae and their mole-men fathers.  It raises my hackles just remembering...

"Why are you going to LA when you don't like that city, BlueHotRage?" I hear you asking--and please, for the love of all that is decent in the world, chew with your mouth closed!

I have family down there.  And I have not seen those family members in question for many years--and I miss them.  And, given that I feel it important to keep in contact with my relations whenever possible, braving the hardships and terrors of the city is a sacrifice I am willing to make.

See you Tuesday!

Eeewwww... having been to LA about 10 times too many now.... Note: I've been there 10 times..... I think I'd buy the family the airline tickets and bring them to me.  Don't have that kind of money?  Save it.... anything but a trip to LA

Dude - head up to Zuma. Take the family. Everything will be just fine once you're there.

bluehot, my one and only trip to LA inspired me to write an early blog about it -- think of it as the first impressions of a nearly-americanized foreigner.

I don't know if that place is really as scaring as u say, in any case good luck.
I hope for u that the time u'll spend with your relatives will be great and justify you to challange ur fear !!

LA was surprisingly less smoggy than I remember.  Which was better for my sensitive nose.  And we mostly carpooled, which was also acceptable.

And FYI, y'all:  I tend to exaggerate things.  It's not really the city's fault that I have bad memories--I just really hated the "Rugrats" movie.  I only saw it because my cousins strong-armed us into seeing it in that dingy theater.  The TV show was okay--but I just really disliked the movie, and the experience of watching it with noisy little children in a dirty movie theater.

    Ick.
