Several years ago I signed up for my very first online auction site, the now world renowned, Ebay. I dabbled a bit, but really didn't take or have the time to really get immersed.
So much has changed since then! I've become a seller and buyer. I have found some bargains and sold things I never imagined anyone would really want. But in addition to that, I think I've made some quite interesting long-distance friends. It's funny how you can get a feel for someone simply by the way they email you...Their choice of or lack of words. The tone of the email or inquiry does tell you more about a person than you would think...
After my return to the Ebay, I was having so much fun that I took a stab at Yahoo Auctions as well. That venture didn't go well. I sold three items quickly but the buyer never followed through. Yahoo doesn't charge, but it wasn't a good experience. Back to my favorite, Ebay, I went!
I have to commend them. I have always found them and the members helpful. Live help is available and thorough. Lots of folks complain that the rates and charges are high or are increased too often, but across the board, it's been good to me.
If you follow the rules, do your homework and take good care of your bidders and buyers you can make some money and have alot of fun doing it. And you can forge friendships with folks from all over the world.
My obsession with Ebay isn't bothering me a bit!
