The two week-long search for missing Sheldean Human came to a gruesome
end on Monday night. The seven-year-old girl's decomposed body was
found outside a stormwater drain near the Tshwane Fresh Produce Market.
A massive search was launched to find the Pretoria Gardens girl, who
went missing while playing in the front garden of her Ernst Street home
on Sunday, February 18.
According to senior police officers, it is believed Sunday night's
heavy rains washed Sheldean's body out of a stormwater pipe, where she
is thought to have been dumped shortly after her disappearance.
It is believed her body was dumped there by one of the men picked up for questioning days after her disappearance.
This is such a tragedy, and even though we cannot explain why, this little girl's face and her innocent smile has captured the hearts of millions. Volunteers pitched from the beginning, searching the area near her home. It was truly amazing to see how people stood together.
Sheldean is now in a better place, and though we all wanted her to be found alive and well, we now know that she's in a safe place. At least there is now closure for the family, but still we know that this is probably the worst thing that can happen to a parent. Condolences to the family, may God give you strength , and heal your hearts - little by little...

Yet another little one, stolen, then, gone. So sad for the parents, family and friends. I hope and pray that they find the one(s) that did this, and that her family is able to recover from this tragedy. Her little light shines in your posts, and she, thank God, is home with the Lord now.

I'm sitting at work at the moment, but can't get my mind off this little angel. I've been reading the news updates, and her mom was admitted to a hospital. Her dad was already in hospital as he was injured during the search for Sheldean one evening when a fellow searcher rode over his leg with a quad bike.
I can't even begin to imagine what this family is going through at the moment. In one of the previous articles Mrs. Human said that Sheldean was her life, and begged her to be returned - Sheldean's parents are divorced, and she was living with her Mommy...
The "friend" who was last seen with Sheldean, Andrew Jordaan, admitted to killing her, and also told them where he had dumped her.
This still has me so upset. I feel like she was somehow a part of me? Sounds a bit strange, but this little girl's blue eyes and spontaneous smile found a place in my heart.
At last no more pain and suffering for Sheldean.
May she rest in peace.

I'm still heart broken about the news of Sheldean. I can't believe it, she was such a beautiful little girl with her whole life ahead of her. How could somebody do such a thing? Then again, how many missing children hasn't suffered the same fate as she did? At least her parents can now find peace in themselves knowing that their little girl is now in a place where no harm can come to her. To Sheldean's parents: Let it be known that my family, friends and I are thinking of you through this difficult time....PS: My cousin is a manager at the fresh produce market behind which her body was found, he doesn't want to talk about it, but it is realy devastating for us knowing she was there, so close.
