I'm a little behind the times on this, but as I just got a hold of a DS, this is the first game I've really played for it. It's a pretty interesting game, with some really fun minigames, but I'm really starting to dislike the adventure mode. Not because of the idea or graphics, but because of the controls and the camera. Actually, my dislike of the gameplay may really all come down to the horrible camera angles the game forces on you. Even with the little camera controls on the touch screen, I can never get the camera in a place where I can control my character the way I want to. It makes walking a straight line across a narrow bridge very difficult, and when I'm trying to make a difficult jump the game becomes so frustrating.
I've been using the standard controls, which use the control pad, which makes precise movements pretty difficult, but I can't say using the touch pad is any easier. You get better speed control using the touch screen, but I find that it's much more difficult to make quick turns or react to something popping up in front of you.
I realize that it is a port from the N64, and it makes me wonder if there were any of the same problems on that console. I find it hard to believe that it would control worse on the N64.
