It's been quite a week this week. I've hardly had any time to catch up, let alone blog!
First, I finished up the Gaurantor part of the passport thing and got the paperwork signed by the ex for the kids. Then we rushed off to the city to spend the night in a family suite in an old apartment turned hotel. Me and the boys were up at 8 and walked down to the passport office by 9. We got to stand at the back of the line shaped like a giant, slightly warped, upside-down N. Maybe it was closer to the way the UN sign is connected together.
Anyhoo, about two hours of standing, one of the officers came around asking if anyone wanted to go in the post line. It was shorter and would work if you needed your passport after the 12th of April. I asked to be sure and we moved over to the short line. After another 45 mins, we got up to the window and the guy said, "Oh, you'll have to see someone else cuz you have custody papers."
At least he checked our stuff and set us up for another line. Told us we'd have about two hours wait and to go get some lunch and come back to sit. So we did. Finally, we reach the next window and the lady starts processing the rest of it. She says, "JJ was born before you and your ex were married? Then you need the long form of the birth certificate." Great. And how do I do that? Gotta go home and order it from BC. At least she gave me a short line ticket for when I come back and told me how to put a rush on his passport...
We ended up having to stay another night in the suite cuz we needed to pay for another full day anyways. We got back to the hotel at 1.30PM. I called my friend and met up with her for a nice chat. She told me to stay with her and that she'd drive me and hang out with me while I wait after we recieve JJ's certificate. I told her cool and see ya when I return.
We left the next morning and drove home. Arrived around 4.30 in the afternoon. I went on the Vital Stats website and found out it costs $65 to get this long form thing! ACK! HOLY CRAP!!!! Like this weekend didn't already cost us $600!!! Sigh. So I ordered it.
It better be here by Friday since that was the extra $38 paid for the 1-5 day courier...
At least I get something good about going back to the city soon. I get to spend a day or two with a friend I've only seen once in six years! I'm going to stay at her house and she's gonna taxi me around the city (I HATE driving in the city!!!! I always get lost!), sit with me in the two hour "short" line, then we're going SHOPPING!!!!!! Chapters, here I come! :-)
Today (Sunday) was Race Day! Daytona 500! Excitement reigns! Smoke doing so well, running in first, penalized for speeding on pit road (has to fix damage from running over Petty's blown tire crap anyways), restarts in 43rd position, rocks his way back up to first position again, 50 laps to go and KURT BUSCH WIPES HIM OUT!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang! I would have cheered for Kurt winning too but... *shrugs* It was a mistake and he wiped himself out too. Then we start cheering for Mark Martin. He's winning, he's keeping Kyle off him for 20 laps, then - crash! They line up again, Mark keeps him off again for another 10 laps then - the Big One - just before they reach the finish line and Kevin Harvick sneaks past him and wins by a nose. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally, I think the yellow should have been thrown as soon as the Big One happened - Mark Martin should have won. Thbbbbbbbbbbbpppppptttt...
So, tomorrow, I will sand the 1/4 bathroom for the final time since the kids are home from school still. The boys can watch the twins and I'll even be able to use my sander and mask (yes I got one this time!) and shower when I'm finished! I guess we'll see how the rest of the week goes from here on.
Cheers! ~^^
