I still consider my self new here but over the last few weeks I've come to know a lot of you. Some will know me some will not. Some I'd like to think of as friends. Some even subscribe to me :-D One thing that stands out for me is the quality of the writing in here. I've read all my life, in varying degrees depending on my situations and time constraints, but I have discovered something here that is to me, well unique.
The written word for me is an object to convey feelings and emotions. I've never felt that through words alone. Add music and I'll weep with the best of 'em, add music and images and I'm done, re the ending scene in Armageddon. And yea I'm male and cried openly :-)
The thing I have now found is that I can read about true life experiences from people who genuinly care and feel. The emotional intensity of some of you and the beauty or horror in the way that you describe your lives is incredible. Add to that the fact that for some English is sometimes a second language, respect, and it really is amazing that your words can hit so squarely and sink so deep.
I have read Blogs in here and felt pain.
I have read Blogs in here and found myself laughing.
I have read Blogs and felt a tear run down my cheek.
That is power :-D

22Dec,I must agree with you. This place has me coming back for more all the time. . .we are very blessed to have the mix of people we do. For me this place fills a huge void and its amazing to think that we can be friends with people that we've never seen or physically met before. 22.......first of all, i love a man who cries and is not ashamed to confess his tears...it adds depth and sexiness to my eyes..
For me words are the most wonderous, intimate yet easily universally sharing tool we have to reach others.....i am addicted to words...
You will never know what exactly will touch you when you start reading somebody's else stories and you will never know exactly what others will find touching in your own words.......but it happens.......its something that simply hits and make you feel..
honesty and sincerity are the keys for me.....English is my second language as well and i am aware of my limitations...so forgive me for my mistakes and my painful struggle to reach the right definitions.....
i am glad you decided to stay..... :-)

i dont know about me having depth and sexiness though, you should have seen me at the end of Green mile when the big guy died. Squinting red eyes of a piglett, a voice many octaves higher than my normal tone and snot everywhere :-) It was messy, lol.

I totally agree with :) this place is simply amazing.
Here I find the courage to look deep into my thoughts and put some of them into writing. Here I can ask questions that I don't even want to answer myself. Here I can face my fears and share them to others and be safe in the knowledge that someone cares. I only hope to be as brave as most of the people I find here to be so amazing.

22: It's true. I think there's something that can be captured in sharing from the heart that is a lot harder to convey in fiction. I like a man who cries, too. My EC's one major flaw is that he always laughed at me when I cried during a sad movie. Totally ruined the experience for me.

Mlw, mate this is like writer soup in here. Such varied ingredients from every sector of this planet. A lot of people have such talent when writing about their own life experiences or for the excercises that some post. The intensity and power within some blogs blows me away. Never thought I would be able to visualize and feel so much through the written word :-) Hope ya like it here.
