Actually, I saw that, but was too lazy to write things down and post about it. So, we're in for it this year? Great to know. (But the ones born recently will have alot of help. From who? Us?)
tinkerman, see you when you're back from your celebration! i'm curious to know how long your celebration is there--in china, it's for 10 solid days, apparently!
SW, we don't celebrate CNY that long over here, as compared to China. The official public holiday are only 2 days, and most working adults are likely to apply annual leave for the rest of the work week, depending on which day the CNY falls on. This year's CNY falls on a Sunday, so we have public holiday on Mon & Tue (compensate for Sunday), and many people will take leave from work for the rest of the week, i.e. Wed - Fri.
As a small nation without any natural resources or huge hinterland, we depend very heavily on international trade. Thus, our ports, customs, immigration facilities all run on 24/7. We cannot afford the luxury like China to 'close' the country for an entire week!
