...the hiss of hydraulics and whine of electronics fade into the background as my gaze carries me through the triple-paned plexiglass and the floodlights. the stars look so close it feels that my gaze could flutter right up to them, a hummingbird of curiosity drawn to their delicate pistils of beauty...how long might it take until we can visit that one, i can't help thinking to myself.
i remember the day i went to buy a diamond for an engagement ring. the diamonds were all displayed on black velvet, shamelessly winking up at me from the inky surface surrounding them, and that's what this sight calls to mind: blue-white and white points of light as far as the eye can see...
the sudden appearance of my breath condensing on the glass tells me i'm a lot closer to the window than i realize and push back from the sill, relying on physics to back me away...newton's words float through my mind "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" as the force my action propels me gently away from the bulkhead, spinning.
