With it being so close to Valentines Day, I thought it would be nice to reflect on things that warm our hearts.  This is my most recent recollection:

One weeknight I was hurrying to get my kids and myself ready for bed for school/work the next day.  My daughter is a dawdler and I was telling her over and over to get ready for bed.  She got her cello out and said she needed to play me something really quick.  She had an upcoming concert so I said " I can hear what you're playing at the concert.  Just hurry up and get to bed."  She looked and hurt and said "I wont be playing this at the concert.  It will be really quick."  I sighed and said, "Fine, but hurry so you can get to bed."  She went to the couch and sat down.  A few seconds later I could hear her playing Happy Birthday on her cello.  Tears started rolling down my face - I had completely forgotten it was my birthday.  She taught herself how to play Happy Birthday on her cello just for me.  As I choked back my tears I said "that was beautiful honey" trying not to let my voice crack.  It was the best birthday present I have ever gotten.  I will never ever, forget that present.

what a lovely story this was.

i know how it feels to be surprised by your kids......they think of us when we don't realize it and nothing can touch a deeper chord than that.

my 3 are the things that warm my heart most often.

Gotta run! Speaking of presents... there's an angel looking at me fromt he top of the stairs and she wants my attention...  :-)
