I was reading an interesting article last night on tantric love. The gist of it was that it can only be achieved when both parties are in a state of mindlessness / fully conscious, ie not thinking, or making love using the mind. Only the body. This self-less-ness(the removal of self from the act), creates for a brief time, oneness between both parties. At which point, there is a realisation that their individual soul centres are actually just parts of a whole, global, cosmic single soul, and not actually detached in the first place.
It appears that odd people throughout history have experienced this, yet been largely unable to explain it sufficiently for other people to understand or experience it for themselves.
I am what you might call an nonreligious person, therefore, often lean towards the scientific explanations of things. However, I stumbled across a translation of the coptic gospel of Judas at the weekend, which made for some interesting reading. Largely because much of it made lots of sense and 'clicked' right into place.
If indeed Jesus did exist, which personally I feel is likely, he may have been one who did experience 'soul' fully and hence tried to convey it to others. Much of what has been written on his teachings has I feel been misinterpreted/misunderstood. What is in the gospel of Judas however, has been largely unchanged, so it's easier to see what he was getting at in the first place.
The soul as Jesus speaks of it(the holy spirit - god), he actually TELLS us is within every one of us. When he explains that he is the 'son' of god, people miss the simple point that all this means is he is a creation of the original force which we all(even nonreligious people) call soul. I find it hard to over-look the simple fact that this makes us all sons or daughters of 'god', as we all have this soul within us.
more soon....
