I occassionally miss a button or keystroke but when some write they sound like a drunk person stuttering or something. Not to insult anyone b/c I'm not a grammer expert at least not anymore, but some sound incoherrant(maybe thats b/c when I read I imagine you are talking to me in your own voice, weird I know) does grammer matter to anyone else? Does it make it harder to read someone you can't understand. A couple of times is fine but a whole blog that sounds like this kinda turns me off. Anyone else feel this way. Maybe I should start proof reading my own stuff, lmao. I've seen some stuff I've done and its the same thing.

    Hi HH!

I dont mind if people dont spell words correctly (as long as I can make out what the word is), but what matters most to me is the use of paragraphs. . .It just hurts my eyes when I see one looooong blog with no paragraphs. . .no matter how much I want to read it I have to skip it.  I feel the same way about sentences that have no breaks in them, to me it's a real turn off.

honestly, i do tend to develop an impression of people based upon the way they choose to communicate, and sometimes, that impression is negative if they can't demonstrate some modicum of skill in writing.

Thanks Polar. I also don't like the run on sentences but am guilty of such.
I went on a blog last night and the thoughts were so incoherent I got confused and after awhile I couldn't figure out what the individual wanted to say.
I see you Silver. I can see where you would get to that inclination. We're all taught basic english and/or writing skills in school.

Note: We are not talking about simple misspelling b/c we've all done that. We're talking about some blogs as a whole. Not many just the occassional person.

HH:  I am guilty of not breaking my writing down into paragraphs, but I have noticed sometimes I do and then when I click submit,  the post comes up without it being in the paragraphs I typed it in.

That happens to me too Mucky. Maybe SC needs to tweak their settings.

I dont really mind about the spelling and punctuation etc HH, its the content that matters to me. If its an interesting blog I'll get through it. I'm guilty of all the mentioned shortcomings sometimes its because I'm in a rush and really dont type thet well to begin with or sometimes its because I'm with beer :)

AAAh, Dec, blame it on the beer! hahahaha :)))

I think we have to remember that there are a fair number of people blogging here for whom English is a second language, so... imagine if you had to blog in Swahili... how good would your grammar be?  Sure, it's a little harder to get through, but the ideas are what's important, and I'm happy to have this forum as a place to share ideas with people from all over the world.

I have to agree with Polar about paragraph breaks, though.  With the excessive length of the lines of type in the posts, paragraph breaks are a must.

Kru I'm sorry I wasn't thinking in that aspect. Does anyone blog in a different language and we some how get a translation? I wrote this b/c I couldn't understand someones idea. It wasn't to insult them it was to ask if anyone else experienced this and had a problem with it. We all do the no-no's.

I'm with the ones who like paragraph breaks. This makes for easier reading.
