Zayda posted about body wash preferences recently. So, I'm wondering what your laundry detergent  and fabric softener preferences are.

Are you brand conscious?

Do you prefer a certain scent?

I use ALL with stain lifter and then I use a lavender scented fabric softener.  My dryer sheets are also lavender scented.

What is your favorite?

I typically use Tide with Bleach laundry detergent, unscented if I can get it, but most of the stores here carry a small supply of unscented.  I like my scent in my fabric softener and don't want the laundry detergent smell to clash if it doesn't all rinse out.

My favorite fabric softener is Downy Simple Pleasures Magnolia and Orange Blossom.

I use ALL with stain lifter for my husbands clothes, Dreft for my kids clothes and Tide with downy for my clothes. And I use Bounce with febreze fresh scent dryer sheets. My kids are old enough that they don't need the baby detergent any more, but I have issues with letting them grow up I guess! lol

What? Lavender? Magnolia and orange blossom? Where have I been?Or maybe these haven't made it north.  Definitely going to have to take a better look next time I go shopping.

Afraid I go for regular Tide and Bounce. Nothing fancy.

I  use Ecover Non-bio detergent and Ecover Fabric Softener. I like the faint lavender scent and best of all none of us have allergic reactions to it which are the norm with other brands.

Is there a married man that has a favorite in these two items?

Maybe there is. The only thing I know is my wife uses Gain & Bounce. I know that because I buy them for her.

She doesn't have her favorite hammer, so I don't feel left out.

I hate to say it but I use whatever is cheapest at the store. We don't have alot of money so we pinch where we can. I have used Gain a couple of times and loved that. Tide is good as well. Dryer sheets are the cheepies too. Any thing in a mountain will do for me.

I do our shopping and most of our laundry so what we use in our house is my choice. Unless there is an unusual sale on the Arm & Hammer brand, I buy house brand laundry detergent (non-bleach whitener) and fabric softener. No one here has ever complained about the quality of the laundry results.

The only name brand that we buy for the laundry room is Woolite for the delicates - and that's the segment of the laundry that I don't do.

    love tide and downy...

I use Purex After The Rain or the Ocean one. I use a LOT of it with six people's laundry to do. Even with our new washer/dryer-in-one that uses half the amount I used to use. I also use Spring And Renewal Ultra Downy with Febreeze fabric softener.

I use 'ALL' h/e detergent and Downy Lavendar liquid fabric softner.

I just bought those dryer balls a week ago.  I'm a sucker for anything "As Seen on TV" and they suck.  They get lost in the clothes and end up doing nothing.  My sheets came out more twisted and wrinkled!

The only detergent I use these days is Purex hypoallergenic, along with Clorox bleach for colors. All those scented fabric softeners make my nose run and I start coughing.

Arm & Hammer is excellent detergent and it's hard to find around here. I 've been using Era, only because I bought one of those gigantic containers of it at Sam's Club last year. I just use store brand fabric softener sheets.

Our washer is a front-loader so I use Tide HE detergent. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many HE options out there, so Tide it is. I use Downy Simple Pleasures Vanilla and Lavender fabric softener (both liquid and dryer sheets).

I use the cheapest detergent I can find, because with four kids, I do laundry constantly. But I am a fragrance nut, so I always use either Downy or Suavitel in the rinse. I hate it if someone else does the laundry and forgets to use it.  I love my clothes to smell good, I used to pour about twice the recommended amount, because then I could smell it throughout the day.

I had to quit doing that though, when my 13 year old came home and said his friends were teasing him because he smelled pretty.

Wow, my favorite is Tide also, but now Tide has added Dawn to their detergent for the stain fighting powers - (talk about using powers for good!)  I've been using it and have tipped of a few other girlfriends that literally run a laundromat out of their laundry room and they too have had positive results. Stains removed and clothes are 100% fresher.
