evidently, joss whedon will be behind a comic book version of season 8 of buffy the vampire slayer according to silver bullet comics's all the rage column.

now, i really enjoyed buffy--i actually own season 6 on DVD just so i could have the entirety of once more, with feeling in the full-length version. but a season eight seems really ill-advised, IMHO.

what do you think?

Oh.. season 7 was SO BAD. It makes my eyes bleed. I can't handle another wound opening, even in comic form.

there really wasn't much to recommend season 7, if you ask me, my alyson hannigan obsession aside. :> ed

Funnily enough, I liked the seventh season better than the sixth. The whole magic addiction thing was just...a very annoying plotline, to me. But. I think, since this is not a question of another season on film, but rather in comic book form, what needs to be examined is not so much the series itself, but whether Joss Whedon is a guy who should write comics. Which, me myself, I think he should. Fray? Fray was so fucking good. If Joss would write the script himself and could get the same artist for these Buffy books, I would be hardcorely in favour of it.

semisecret: hey, that's fair. although i'd welcome a one-shot april fool's issue in which they explore the meaning behind faith always describing something as "five by five". ed

Love the odd seasons (1,3,5, and even 7). Season 8 is a great idea fo rthose of us that are obsessed. The Angel TV show gave a taste of the the Buffy crew was doing after Sunnydale sunk, but to see their continued advetures and development would be great. Even if it's just in comic book form. And Joss as the writer? His X-Men stint was pretty good, as were/are some of the Angel books he gets involved in. The fact that we're even talkning about the show so many years later means he must have come up with a well-enough developed world. Sure he should writie it. No one would be better.

hey there, stirz, thank you for visiting my blog!

i dunno, i have my concerns about how the story works--who's the big bad in a season 8? i mean, buffy's already taken on a god, for crying out loud. what could possibly follow that up?

Here's geek speak for what Five by Five means... What I'd really like to know is how Faith knew this on her own!
    *************************************************

    Radio signal strength times clarity.

Five by five is a radio communications expression that means "loud and clear." The first number five represents the S units of reception strength (which could be read from a meter). The second five is a rating of the signal clarity (which was subjective).

I believe that Ham radio operators were the first to use this, but it was picked up by the military and even the F.C.C. as the amateurs became "professionals."

"Five by five" is a strong, clear signal.

thank you, mel! i've never quite understood the expression. and yeah, how in the world did faith know it?!

and thanks for visiting my blog. :>
