When I was a little girl, I used to love sprinkling a little salt in my beer.  It was so much fun to watch the little, mushroom-cloud explosion that it caused in that golden liquid, below the foamy cap.  Tasted pretty good, too.  Later, when I was in college, there was a traditional German bar that we used to go to where you could get something called a Weiss Beer.  It came in a tall, thin glass with a lemon slice floating on top.  Quite refreshing.  What weird beer tricks do you know?

haha... well, I never drank beer without my parents' permission, and only on special occasions and under supervision.  Normally a half a cup was about it.  But I think this was one of the few things my parents did right.  Because I had already drunk beer on occasion, by the time I turned 18, which was the legal drinking age at the time, it was no big deal to me.  So, where all my friends were heading straight to the bars on their 18th birthdays to get drunk out of their mind, because drinking was a brand new, previously forbidden experience for them... on my 18th birthday, I chose to volunteer at a prom for people with developmental disabilities with some of my other friends.  That was more fun to me.

Kruu, ok so I'm back (sorry).  Did I mention that I think you're really cool?  Well, if I didn't, just for the records, I think you are REALLY cool.  And I doooo hope we get to meet for that coffee when you come to the UK in the summer.

I don't know any tricks, but Tecate with lime & salt is good. In college, some put tomato juice in draft beer, called it tomato beer. I never tried it because as much as I like tomatos, the juice is out.

polar:  Don't ever apologize for coming back.  You are always welcome here.  And I think you're cool, too.  And your compliment, coming from a Polar gal like you, means a lot to me.  By the way, if all goes well, I may be in the UK a lot longer than initially planned.  I may have an opportunity to petsit for a few months in Cornwall.  There's a lot of competition, though.  But either way, I should be in South Kent for part of the summer.  It would be fun to get together.

beyond: I've heard about those tomato beers.  But we used to call them Polish Bloody Mary's.  I never tried one, though.
